Full Review

If you have watched any of Rob Zombie's produced films, you have understood that their is a freaky factor incorporated into all of his plotlines, this movie being no different. I recommend that you watch the first Halloween by Zombie before seeing the second one simply because he has flashbacks all throughout the second installment-to the first installment. This way you will better understand what is going on, who the characters are, and how it ties in with what you are currently watching.

For those who have already watched his first Halloween-you know how twisted and gory his portrayal of the Michael Meyers story had been. Well, in the newest production-you'll still get that twisted plotline and 10 times the gore as before-he really outdid himself this time!

Now, I watch scary movies quite often and it has probably led to my current fear of the dark. But this movie gave me Nightmares! And I am being totally serious! (Without spoiling the plot too much) Zombie managed to bring back not only most all of the previous -important- characters, he brought them back in a whole new evil light. From the very start of the movie you'll notice the plotline pick up right where the first installment left off, and then you'll fast-forward to an interesting point of view for the remainder of the movie. Literally from about the five-minute mark until the end of the movie you won't go very long in between brutal and disgusting killings. Pretty much anyone outside of the main character gets hacked at one point or another. Zombie really pushes the grotesque details of mutilated bodies, and every little detail from the image to the sounds of Michael killing his victims- I mean nothing is spared to the imagination. And he has found the absolute nastiest ways for Michael to kill everyone-you won't be able to guess all the ways he kills the victims in the duration of this movie!!

Gory details aside, this film is produced in the same dark demeanor as the first-special attention was paid to the grotesque details of everything outside of the killings as well- to portray a less-than-romanticized view of the various characters and locations. I highly recommend seeing this production in the local theater so that you really grasp all of the fine-tuned dark details and blood-curdling sound effects that Zombie has perfected in this masterpiece horror flick. If you have watched any of Rob Zombie's produced films, you have understood that their is a freaky factor incorporated into all of his plotlines, this movie being no different. In Closing

While this movie closes a lot of its loose ends, at the very end there may be a slight lead into a third installment-and that is a big MAYBE. But you'll have to guess that for yourself!
