Harry Potter Stars: What Are They Doing Now?

By Edited Mar 8, 2016 6 12

It has been 3 years since the Harry Potter franchise ended. Many would say that Harry Potter is one of the greatest movie franchises of all time, as each of its 8 films were included among the 50 largest grossing movies list. The movie series have even turned virtually unknown people into A-list actors. And seeing that Emma Watson has just recently graduated, people are now asking, “What are these actors doing now?” Well, here’s an update about what’s happening to your favourite Harry Potter stars.

Harry Potter

Daniel Radcliffe

Daniel Radcliffe

Before being cast as the leading role in the Harry Potter series, Daniel Radcliffe started his career as Charles Dickens’ young David Copperfield. After Harry Potter, he starred in the Broadway play How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying and the movie The Woman in Black. Just a year ago, he starred in the film Kill Your Darlings as the American poet Allan Ginsberg and in Horns as Ig Perrish, a man accused of rape and murder. He also has upcoming movies like What if, and the 2015 remake of Frankenstein. Daniel also guested on a few TV shows like Saturday Night LiveRobot Chicken, and currently the lead star of the mini series A Young Doctor's Notebook.

Daniel was said to have earned GBP 1million on the first Harry Potter movie, and GBP 15 million by the time he finished the 6th installment of the series. He was even reported to have a net worth of GBP 30 million around 2009, according to The Daily Telegraph. Daniel is also a big supporter of charities like the Demelza House Children’s Hospice and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and Get Connected UK.

This 24-year old actor is known to only splurge his money on books and occasional night
outs with friends, and mostly keeps himself quiet in the social media world. Daniel is currently dating Erin Darke, and lives in his home in Lower Manhattan, New York City.

In 2011, she was chosen to be the face of Lancome. She is indeed a fashion and style icon, making splurges on clothes from known designers like the dress she wore from Stella McCartney which cost almost $2,000, and bag from M2Malletier that roughly cost $1300.

Emma Small

Around 2007, Emma was said to have earned about GBP 10 million, and was even 6th on
Forbes’ Most Valuable Youngs stars in March 2009. By February 2010, she was declared as the highest paid female actress in Hollywood, with an estimate earnings of GBP 19 million. Emma also prefers to share her skills rather than donating cash to charities. She worked as a creative advisor for People Tree, a Fair Trade brand of fashion, to help create multiple collections.

Emma recently broke up with long-time boyfriend, Will Adamowicz, and now dating Matt Janey, an Oxford rugby player. She was last seen filming her new movie Regression in Toronto, Canada, a few days after she graduated from Brown University.

I'm a Harry Potter addict, so I thought this was great! I am so glad that all of these actors have been able to continue on with their acting careers. I can still remember when Superman was so branded, that he was done. It was tragic.

Great article. I agree with LavenderRose and probertson85 that it's great not only that they've been able to keep working but have avoided all the pitfalls that come with being a child star. I hope that some day in the future at least one of them has another iconic role to add their resume.
