Have a Happy Thanksgiving Dinner with Muffins and Ravioli

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 2 10

A genuinely cheerful dinner on Thanksgiving doesn't have to involve eating a lot of food that is enough to feed a pride of lions nor eating that two-legged animal which noisily emanates gobble gobble from its mouth. Turkey . . . now I remember what its call.

Let's say you're at a party, either a gigantic or a tiny one. To have a happy Thanksgiving dinner, it is helpful to know the kind of food everyone like and dislike. Most important of all is to take notes and remember who is allergic to what food. I am explaining with the assumption that there won't be any uninvited guests, party crashers, or alcohol beverage being served. As you may have figured it out, I'm trying to explain how to reach the goal of everyone being happy with the Thanksgiving dinner.

Call me picky if you wish, but I definitely would not like pumpkin pie as part of my Thanksgiving dinner. There's really nothing special about the taste of pumpkin. In order words, it is bland. Having a very tasty crust wouldn't have me change my mind.

Peach Pie

Speaking of pie, wouldn't life be grand if you get to eat peach pie. I didn't mean once. How about eating it everyday, especially if it's well-made with fresh peaches? A recipe for peach pie made it look like it's not difficult to do. There are a total of seven steps to follow, and they are not wordy. You would only leave it alone for 45 - 50 minutes for it to be baked. One important tip to note is to dip your peaches in hot water for a few seconds, then in cool water so that you are able to peel the peaches easily.

Cranberry Cheddar Cheese Muffins

A Thanksgiving treat to have as a side dish are Cranberry Cheddar Cheese Muffins. You can try different variations from the recipe that is typed by using different kind of cheeses or try with other herbs and spices. The great about this recipe is that pans of muffin cups are not a necessity. It is ok to use the ones that are made out of paper.

Muffin Pan

A nice segue would be what else, explaining about a very quality product on Amazon.com worth buying. I thought why not show you a muffin pan that made a lot of people write a review about it? Farberware 52106 Nonstick Bakeware 12-cup Muffin Pan is something everyone should consider buying if they are going to bake muffins. I'm sure you could use it to bake cupcakes. The size of that product is 15-1/4 by 10-1/2 by 1-1/4 inches; also, each cup measures 2-3/4 inches across and 1-1/4 inches deep. Also, it weighs 1.6 pounds. The muffin pan has a two-coat silicone polyester nonstick surface, made with cold-rolled steel construction, and has large handles for a safe and secure grip and to keep oven mitts out of the batter. Another valuable attribute for that kitchen accessory is being oven-safe for up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

Farberware's Muffin Pan is currently eligible for Amazon's FREE Super Saver Shipping if the total of amount of the item(s) purchased for one shopping session by a customer is over $25.00. Yet, it is only available to be shipped to select countries outside the United States. The product is also eligible for Amazon's 4-for-3 promotion. Certain products include Books, Single Copy Magazines, and Home & Garden items. The deal is to buy any four eligible items and get the lowest-priced item free. If you want to get more information, I recommend you click to go to the detailed page of the product. I really do think it's important to read the Terms & Conditions. Yes, it is boring.

According to Farberware's description of its muffin pan, they said their product is a durable bakeware that will withstand through many years of it being used. The slick surface on the pan ensures easy food release. If you don't mind cleaning kitchen wares after eating, then you'll be disappointed that it is a snap to clean the pan. The reason is because it has twice coated inside and outside with silicone polyester non-stick material.

Farberware 52106 Nonstick Bakeware 12-cup Muffin Pan is ranked up high at number 278 in the Kitchen & Dining category for Amazon Bestsellers. Furthermore, it has 44 customer reviews with 37 of them gives the product five stars, five people gave it four stars, and two people gave it only one star.

A Review of Farberware 52106 Nonstick Bakeware 12-cup Muffin Pan

The review that had the most number of people agreeing with it is titled "Best Muffin Pan I've Ever Used." It was written in May 9, 2008, and since then it received 36 thumbs up. The reviewer stats that he/she has used several other types including non-stick pans, plain aluminum pans, and silicon pans. The person stated that the Farberware 52106 Nonstick Bakeware 12-Cup Muffin Pan is very heavy duty, three times the weight of the muffin pans used previously, and it will not warp and lose its original shape. Also, it is very easy to clean. If the product is going to be cleaned quickly after the muffins are taken out, then all you need to do is to wipe it with a wet sponge. There's no need to soak or scrub the muffin pan. The reviewer states the muffins are standard size. A recipe that explains the steps to make 12 muffins will make exactly 12 of them using the Farberware item. The person said his/her previous pans always end up baking at least 14. Note that there is some variation with the dimensions of the muffin holes in "standard" pan. Lastly, the reviewer had plans to buy either one or two of the muffin pans.

I Love Raviolis

A Thanksgiving dinner would definitely be celebrated by me if it includes ravioli. Not just any ravioli, but the ones that are well-cooked. My thoughts influenced me to provide a grand review of Norpro Ravioli Maker and Press. Maybe just forget about reading the rest of this article and click on the link since it has 42 customer reviews. This ravioli maker and press maker received a whopping 29 five-star reviews, 8 four-star reviews, 2 three-star reviews, 2 two-star reviews and only 1 one-star review.

A customer review that had 49 people find it helpful states to liberally flour the ravioli maker and press before laying it on the dough so they can pop out quickly. There is another tip from a customer review that had 33 people finding it helpful. It states to spray the mold with Pam before the first piece of pasta is laid on it. It will make it easier to separate your pasta from the mold. Furthermore, it forms pretty deep pockets for a good amount of filling in the not-so-big raviolis.

The dimensions for the Norpro Ravioli Maker and Press are 12 x 4.2 x 1 inches; it weighs only 1 pound. When you use the item, no pasta roller is needed. You make the pasta dough with your own rolling pin. Included when you purchase the product are easy-to-follow recipes for pasta dough and meat-filled ravioli. Each square measures 1 and 1/2 inches. It is recommended that you wash it with your hands.

Some nice ideas here freedom! I think we all get too caught up in turkey and stuffing & turkey always seems to take an entire day to thaw, stuff and cook and then it still comes out dry half of the time!
