Having A Party Without Your House Getting Ruined

Having a house party can be an amazing thing whether it is for a birthday, going away party, anniversary, or for no reason. However, cleaning up after a house party can make you never want to have one again! Some people have parties at their house for absolutely every occasion, and you may be thinking to yourself that they must do a lot of cleaning. This may be the case; however, it is likely not the case, because I highly doubt that they would be having that many house parties if they had to do all of the cleaning associated with them.

There are actually ways to control your party at your house enough to allow the guests to do the cleaning for you; this is not to say that your house will be spotless when they leave, but it will sure minimize the amount of cleaning that you will have to do. The key to having a party without your house getting ruined is having control over your guests. It is impossible to go around to every single of your 50+ guests, and ensure that they are doing what you would like; however, with the right measures in place you can create an environment in which they know what to do to keep your house clean after the party. This article will provide you with ways in which your guests will do the things on their own that will allow you to have a party without your house getting ruined; follow them and you will surely be pleased with the results!

Place Garbage Bags Everywhere

Garbage takes home the medal for the most time consumption when you are cleaning up after a house party. The majority of the people that attend your house party, no matter how close they are to you, will not care about throwing their garbage out as much as you think that they do. This is not to say that everyone will be leaving their garbage on your lawn, but they will only be throwing it out if it is convenient to them. So you ask: how do we fix this? By making it convenient to throw out their garbage in a garbage bag. A good rule of thumb to follow when you are having a house party is to have a garbage bag in every room, and within every 15 feet outdoors. If you can successfully have all of your guests throw their garbage in the garbage bags, the only thing that you will have to do when cleaning up after your house party is tie up those garbage bags and bring them to the front of your lawn!

Use Plastic Utensils

Another key to having a party without your house getting ruined is to use plastic utensils as much as possible. This includes, but is not limited to, cups, forks, knives, spoons, and plates. Depending on how many guests you may have at your house, this will save you a lot of time washing dishes. It is important to note that this method must be paired with the garbage bag technique listed above or else you will be left with even more of a mess. If you can provide your guests with plastic utensils, and have them throw those utensils in the garbage when they are done, you will not only save yourself from cleaning up a mess, but also save your house from getting ruined throughout your party!

Place A Mat At The Door

This tip for saving your house from getting ruined after a party is fairly simple, and many people may already have this in place. If there is any form of wetness on the ground, and your guests walk in without drying or removing their shoes, your floor will be an absolute mess. Having a mat at your door eliminates that problem in both ways. It provides an area where your guests can leave their shoes if they decide to remove them, and provides an area for them to dry their shoes if they decide to leave them on. A mat at your door provides you with a win-win situation in regards to holding a party without your house getting ruined.

Block Off Any Rooms That Need To Be

This is more for your peace of mind, as well as ensuring that those individual rooms in your house are not getting ruined. I am sure that you wouldn't mind having to clean up a small spill on your living room carpet after your house party; however, I don't think that you would be as lenient if somebody spilled their drink on your $2000 leather chair that you cherish in your home office. You should block off any rooms that need to be with signs clearly stating that nobody should enter; this will help ensure that the room, as well as your house are not getting ruined throughout the party. A simple rule of thumb to follow is to "lock the door if it has a lock, but if not use a sign that draws a clear line". Clearly state which rooms should not be entered and you will surely have a party without your house getting ruined.

If There Is Beer Have A Designated Used Bottle Area

The majority of house parties that people hold involve beer; moreover, a good portion of beer comes in bottles. Beer bottles can be brutal to clean up after a party if not handled properly; they can single handedly ruin your house after the party, and cause for hours of cleaning up. They break easily, and are hard to spot in grass. You should have a designated area in which your guests can place their empty beer bottles. You should ideally have empty beer cases in that area as they allow for a smooth and quick clean up; however, any tub, bin, or case will do. Having a designated empty beer bottle area will save you hours of cleaning up, as well as save your house from getting ruined throughout the party.

Having a house party can be an amazing thing; having a house party without your house getting ruined can be an EVEN BETTER thing! The key to having a party without your house getting ruined is to gain control over your guests, and facilitate and environment that will allow them to make these "house saving" decisions themselves. Use the tips in this article the next time that you have a house party and you will surely have one without your house getting ruined!

Great tips for have a clean party! The biggest problem I always run into is all the wounded soldiers leftover at the end of the night. It's amazing how many drunk people set their beers down to light a cigarette and forget about their beer only to go open a new one a few minutes later. It's wasteful and messy, I hate it, lol.
