Your head is throbbing and you don't know what to do, so now you are hunting headache cures, right? There is nothing worse than a constant pain that you cannot get rid of. Perhaps that over the counter drug you just took is not working fast enough for you. Keep reading. Here are some tips that might be helpful.

I have never been a big fan of taking those over the counter medicines. I've always been more interested in finding good natural headache cures. And here are a few examples that might work for you.

Have you been under a lot of stress? Tension starting to wear you down and now your head is suffering for it? The first thing you need to do is calm yourself down. Find a way to de-stress the situation and perhaps even your life. Take up yoga or even meditation. Secondly, when that headache first starts to hit you, take a warm to hot compress and apply it the back of your neck and try to relax. Find a darker room and close your eyes and let the heat absorb into your skin.

You could even try to drink the ever popular apple cider vinegar. Mix it with a full glass of water and you can even add a sweetener to make it more bearable. Honey is usually the first choice. Apple cider vinegar is quickly becoming the fix it all cure for whatever ails you. And a headache is no different.

Another route is to use a cool or cold compress. This technique is good to help with basic inflammation. And if you have some peppermint or lavender oil, sprinkling that and rubbing into your neck will definitely help to calm those headaches down. Both mint and lavender have a soothing effect and are becoming increasingly popular.

If you are looking for sinus headache cures, you should definitely start looking into investing into eucalyptus oil. Applying this along the bridge of your nose and under your eyes will definitely open up your sinus cavity. It is seemingly inexpensive and definitely been known to work.

Another simple way is to add drops of peppermint oil or eucalyptus oil to steaming water. Place a towel over your head and lower your head enough to inhale the steam. It will help to open up your sinuses. And you can feel free to repeat this trick as needed. You can even drop those oils into a hot bath and soak yourself. It is pretty relaxing. Good way to relax those muscles and relieve your sinuses.

If you happen to have some castor oil lying around, find a small dropper. You can put two drops of castor oil on the inside of your nose and that will definitely help to open up those cavities. It is simple and cost effective.

If you need some migraine headache cures, all of these tricks will work for you, but try adding acupressure. Try applying pressure to the base of your neck on both sides. Or even on the bridge of your nose. Even squeezing the spot between your thumb and your first finger is sometimes helpful. Acupressure has a lot of the benefits of acupuncture but cheaper and can be done at home.

Some other important factors that will help in treating headaches is drinking plenty of water to detoxify for you system. Eating a healthy diet full of vitamins and nutrients is good. Make sure you get plenty of exercise. Leading a healthy lifestyle will help with constant headaches.

But if these headache cures do not work for you, make sure you visit a doctor. Constant and severe headaches could indicate that something serious is wrong. And perhaps natural remedies will not fix your headaches that only a prescribed medicine will. Do not hesitate to ask your doctor questions. You do not have to live with constant headaches, so don't!
