Ever wonder what really works best for the body to get the most essential nutrients and guide the body as well in your objectives of maintaining good health through exercise and balanced diet? Have you ever heard of chia seeds?

To the health conscious, it is important to have a "balanced" meal. Nutritionists would say that you need carbohydrates to have a high energy level but on the downside, they are quickly metabolized making you fell hungry so soon. This causes a lot of confusion. Some also say that a high-protein diet is best in order not to get hungry so soon because meat makes you feel heavy for a longer time. However, what about the cholesterol that goes with red meat? Chia seed can provide a counter to the cholesterol in your diet.

Also, there have been an enormous number of low-fat or non-fat products in the supermarket and menus to restaurants. But weight is still a huge issue around the world especially in the United States where obesity has been a serious matter now even for the government. Aside from these low-fat or non-fat products, there is also a pool of brands offering diet or slimming supplements which are either boxed or bottled.

On the other hand, despite experts' advice to provide the body with the right amount of food to become healthy and strong, there are still people who believe that the best way to lose weight is to eat less during the day. Some wrongfully suggests eating once a day, or have crackers for lunch, and worse, just eat apples the whole day! Not supplying the body with all the food God has made to be readily available to us will only slow your metabolism, make losing weight more difficult, decrease your energy levels, and cause you different illnesses!

Thanks to science, black or white chia seeds have been re-introduced after centuries of not minding their existence. When mixed in fruit juices or other dishes, they form gel-like substances in the stomach which create a barrier between carbohydrates and digestive enzymes, thus slowing the conversion of carbohydrates into sugar, thereby providing endurance. Also, the chia's water absorbing qualities displaces unhealthy calories and fat.
