Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal with Vanilla Protein Paste Recipe
I get bored of oatmeal pretty quickly and often wind up grinding it up into protein shakes to make sure I still get my daily intake. This recipe is absolutely delicious if you like pumpkin pie and is very healthy for those of us watching our weight.This recipe is for 1 Serving, multiply for larger servings
Oatmeal Ingredients
- 1/4 cup low fat milk/soy milk
- 6 Tablespoons water
- 1/4 cup old fashioned Oats
- Pinch cinnamon
- Pinch nutmeg
- 1/8 cup canned pumpkin
- 1/8 cup sliced almonds
- Splenda or other artificial sweetener
Vanilla Protein Paste Ingredients
- 1/8 cup water
- 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
Preparation
Take a small pot and pour in your 1/4 cup milk and your 6 tablespoons of water. Bring this mixture to boil over a medium heat then add in your oats, nutmeg and cinnamon. Lower the temperature to medium-low and allow the the mixture to simmer for 7-10 minutes until the oats absorb the liquids.Next stir in your pumpkin, almonds and sweeter then pour the oatmeal into a bowl.
In a separate bowl, mix your 1/8 cup of water and the vanilla protein powder with a fork until all the protein powder is well mixed and resembles a bit of a paste.
Pour the vanilla protein paste over your oatmeal and enjoy!
