Healthy Snack Ideas That Combat Hunger
Healthy snacks are a great way to help you stay on track with your eating plan and do something good for your body. When you incorporate healthy snacks in between meals; you prevent yourself from overeating at your next meal because you will not feel starved.
Some healthy snack ideas are low-fat yogurt, fresh fruits and veggies, cottage cheese, and part-skim mozzarella cheese sticks. If you are craving something crunchy you can try eating baby carrots. If the baby carrots do not sound appealing to you than you could try baked tortilla chips, but only eat them if you have the discipline to serve yourself one serving and that it is an honest serving. Pretzel sticks can also combat the craving for something crunchy and salty.
Peanut butter and nuts in general are great for healthy snacking. They help maintain energy, provide you with protein, fiber and monounsaturated fat (the good fat). Almonds are especially good for making you feel full because of the right combination of fat, protein and fiber in them. Just a small serving of them will push off hunger for a few hours. It's not necessary to eat rice cakes, celery sticks or even carrots all the time in order to stick with a healthy eating plan. If you only ate those snacks, you would go crazy and binge later. Its best to incorporate many of these healthy diet snacks and even put a twist on them. Why not try slices of apple with 1 TBSP of peanut butter? You can also eat pretzel sticks with mustard or cottage cheese with frozen cherries on top.

Good tips. I find string cheese and almonds work really well to help with the cravings. :)
