A hearing loss support group can prove to be very beneficial to many. Whether you are in the beginning stages, or nearing deafness, there is likely to be a great resource or two for you to use. Many have emotional difficulties when dealing with this. This is perfectly natural, as you will soon find out in your hearing loss support group. One of the specific options available for those in need deals with those thinking about getting, or already having, cochlear implants. You will be able to meet online with many facing the same situation as you with this online hearing loss support group.

The Say What Club also has an option for those dealing with combined hearing loss and balance issues. This makes the online support group more tailored to meet the individual’s needs. This can prove to be very beneficial to you, depending on your situation.

The Say What Club also has options for your family members and loved ones, offering them some help coping as well during the difficult times. This can prove to be a great option for the loved ones in your life, and can be accessed through the SWC website listed above. It’s just one of the many online hearing loss support groups you should consider.

· There are many other online hearing loss support groups out there to choose from. You can simply do an internet search to find many others. One of the options you may wish to check out is Daily Strength. This is really more of a universal site, offering support groups in many areas, including hearing loss and deafness. To begin, visit the site, at www.dailystrength.org/c/Hearing-Loss-Deafness/support-group. You will have no problem finding some people facing the same issues you are coping with.

Keep in mind that you will need to sift through some of the discussions with the Daily Strength site, since it’s not specific to any single topic. Still, you may find some people you can connect with, and help you cope with your hearing loss. This is really what support groups are all about.

· The Hearing Exchange has a great blog and forum section you can use as well, when you are searching for a support group you can use when dealing with your loss. To check this site out, simply log on to www.hearingexchange.com visit their forum sections.

You will find something to help you out with the hearing exchange. Be sure to check out their other resources available in dealing with deafness. There is a lot of great information with this site, making it a popular choice with many when looking for a support group to help deal with their loss.

· The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA), has a great online support group option that just may work out for you. To check them out, simply log on to www.hearingloss.org/. You will be able to connect with many others dealing with the same issues as you are. You will find their resources to be topnotch as well, making them a great choice for most people.

Meeting in person:

For many, on online hearing loss support group doesn’t have the same appeal. For those that would like to physically meet others dealing with the same issues, there are some great options available. You should know that you will generally find fewer options when searching for a hearing loss support group that meets in person. In addition, the meetings are generally only held weekly or monthly. Still, it’s a great option. In fact, when coupled with the online meeting, it can really be very effective.

· You can join one of the many chapters of the HLAA, and attend meeting in person, if you prefer this method. To find the locations near you, visit www.hearingloss.org/chapters/index.asp. On the main page, you will notice some options available. For many, it’s easiest to search for a location by using the map option. You will see this near the top of the page listed, in blue lettering. With some luck, you will find a hearing loss support group that appeals to you.

When you choose to search by map, you will come up to a map of the United States. You can simply click on the state you are looking for, and see what comes up. You are quite likely to find many options out there for physical meeting. Hopefully, there will be a hearing loss support group available without too far of a drive.

· If you aren’t finding a hearing loss support group in your area, you will still have some options. To start, you can simply check with your doctor. Your physician will likely have access to this great information, and be willing to share it with you. In addition, you can check with the school system in your area. Even if you are an adult, the school system will likely be able to steer you in the right direction.

· You will find many smaller hearing loss support group meeting options, often locally, that simply are harder to find. In addition, you can search for other options using any search engine. To narrow your results, be sure to enter the city or state in which you want to attend. You will likely find some great results this way, more tailored to a specific area.
