Holiday Cocktails Recipes for Festive Celebrations

Celebrate this Festive Holiday Season

 

The festive holidays are a great time of year to celebrate for the majority of people. A time where everyone forgets their troubles and celebrates together at parties of all sorts.

As this festive season is just around the corner once again we need to think of some different holiday and party drink recipes to celebrate these festive activities.

Here is a collection of some of those traditional cocktail drinks that you can make in your own home for this festive season. These recipes include a couple for Halloween, Christmas and many others to pick from. Most of these are very simple, with few ingredients. Others are more involved.

I hope you will enjoy making a couple of these at your party or festivities this season.

 

Halloween Cocktails

Witches Brew

  • 2 oz mixed cranberry and pineapple juice
  • 2oz 7-up
  • 1-1/4 oz shot Malibu Coconut Rum

Mixing Method

Mix all the fruit juices and add 7 -Up into a highball glass.

Pour shot down the side of glass right before drinking

Blood sucker Cocktail

  • ½oz contreau
  • 1-1/2 oz Bacardi
  • 1 tblsp raspberry or strawberry puree
  • 2 oz pineapple Juice

Mixing Method

Pour rum, contreau and juice into a shaker with ice.

Shake this and pour into a rocks glass.

Squirt some of the puree into the bottom half of the drink so it will sink into red blobs

Do not stir. Drink and enjoy

Christmas Cocktail Recipes

 

 

Mojito

  • Quantity of ice
  • 2 oz white rum
  • ¾ oz fresh lime juice
  • 6-8 mint leaves, use extra sprigs for garnishing
  • 1 oz Simple Syrup (recipe following)
  • ½ oz chilled club soda

Mixing method

Muddle (mix or crush) the mint leaves into a cocktail shaker. Add the rum, lime juice,simple syrup and ice and give it a good shake. Now strain this into an ice-filled collins glass and stir in the club soda. Finish off with a sprig of mint for garnishing.

Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

 Mixing Method

Place water in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to simmer and add the sugar stiring until dissolved. Remove from heat and set aside until cool. Pour syrup into a clean sealed bottle ready to use when required.

Sherry Cocktail (A Mexican Favorite)

  • 1 oz sherry
  • 1 oz brandy
  • ¼ oz Cherry Liqueur
  • Quantity ice
  • ½ oz grenadine
  • ¼ oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 brandied cherry
  • 1 flamed orange twist

You can use spanish ingredients

Mixing Method

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice then add the brandy, grenadine, lemon juice, cherry and sherry. Shake well then strain into ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with the orange flamed twist and cherry.

Other Festive Cocktail Recipes

Original Irish Coffee Recipe

  • 1 jigger of Irish Whiskey
  • 2 teaspoons of Sugar
  • Fresh Hot Coffee
  • Fresh Cream

Mixing Method

Rinse the glass with boiling water, so it is hot to start with. Add Whiskey, Sugar & Coffee. Stir using the back of a spoon, slowly pour the cream so it sets on top of the mixture.

Resist the temptation of stiring the cream into the coffee. Traditionally, its best sipped through the cream. Use fresh cream for best result.

Harvey Wallbanger

1-1/4 oz Vodka Splash of Falliano, Orange Juice. Pour Vodka & Orange juice over ice in a tall or Collins glass. Top with Galliano

Hooter

Equal parts of; Vodka, Amaretto, Grenadine & Orange juice Shake over ice, Strain into Rocks or Shot glass 

Hot Toddie

1 tsp. Sugar, Boiling Water, 1 1/4 oz. Brandy, Bourbon or Choice of Liquor.

Add 1 teaspoon of sugar and your liquor choice in a glass. Fill with hot water, garnish with an orange or lemon twist.

 French Kiss

1 oz. each; Dry & Sweet Vermouth. Pour over your ice, Garnish with a lime wedge.

Godfather

1 1/2 oz. Scotch, 3/4 oz. Amaretto Build over ice in a Rocks glass

Godmother

1-1/2 oz. Vodka, 3/4 oz. Amaretto. Build over ice in a Rocks glass

Gingersnap

1 oz. Ginger Brandy, 1 oz. Vodka, Splash of Pineapple juice & 2 Splashes of Lemonade. Shake with ice & Pour into a Tall or Collins glass, Garnish with a Lemon twist

Golden Margarita

1 1/4 oz. Cuervo, 3/4 oz. Grand Marnier, Dash each of; Sour mix & Lime juice. Shake with ice, Serve on Rocks or Strain into Salt rimmed glass, Garnish with a Lime wedge

Deep Throat

3/4 oz. Vodka, 1/4 oz. Tia Maria, Whipped cream

Build in exact order into a Pony or Shot glass, Top with Whipped Cream No hands should be used to drink this shooter!

Dirty Harry

1 oz. each of; Grand Marnier & Tia Maria. Stir over ice & Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or build on the rocks.

Flaming Lambourghini

Equal parts: Kahlua & Sambuca
1 oz. each; Blue Curacao & Milk (in separate shot glasses)

Combine Kahlua & Sambuca in a cocktail glass, flame. Drink with a straw & as the drink is almost gone, pour the Blue Curacao & Milk in together & continue to drink through the straw.
