The vitamin C in lemon juice is also known to be a great antioxidant for various skin disorders. To use this method, simply grab a cotton ball and smooth it over the scars. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse away.
- Baking soda works as a great exfoliating treatment for acne and acne scars- Many don't realize this but many professional microdermabrasion treatments actually use a form of baking soda as a base for their treatment. Baking soda is the poor man's solution to the professional version and actually works almost as well. To create your own, all you need is one teaspoon of clean, filtered water and 2 teaspoons of baking soda. Mix them together to form a paste and then gently massage it over the acne marks. Let it sit for a minute or two and wash it off. Repeat every night.
A common household ingrediant to treating acne scars is garlic- Garlic is the wonder drug and is used in Ayurveda medicine for a number of things. It is actually very good for treating acne scars and probably the best herbal remedy for acne. To use, simply crush a clove of garlic and apply it to the area of the scarring.
When treating acne scars, patience and discipline are very important. Just like losing weight and dieting, your acne scars didn't suddenly appear overnight barring plastic surgery, you can't expect for them to disappear overnight either. If you devote a small amount of time a day to treating your skin and the damage that has been done over time, then you will see that...over time...your acne scarring will start to fade. Whether you try these home remedies to treating your acne scars or some other ones, understand that it is going to take a little time to get back to having beautiful healthy skin.
