Homemade Dry Scalp Remedies

By Edited Nov 19, 2016 1 1

Dry scalp is a problem which occurs when a stand of hair is not adequately lubricated by the oil or sebaceous glands on the scalp. The common belief of people who have this problem is that making the scalp wet will make this dilemma go away.

However, doing this only makes the problem worse because more water absorbs more moisture away. There are a lot of commercial remedies for dry scalp but the natural ones are the most recommended by professionals.

The most effective types of dry scalp remedies are the ones which are applied through massage and as a moisturizer. If you are looking for a relaxing solution to dry scalp, then massage remedies is the right one for you.

Massage is considered as one of the most effective dry scalp remedies because it improves blood circulation on the scalp.

Once blood flows freely, the scalp will produce more natural oils that will not only keep the scalp from getting dry but will also nourish the hair to make it more healthy and shiny.

After you have already solved the problem on dryness, a 5 minute head massage every week should be done to maintain the healthy production of oil.

Home made dry scalp remedies are also very effective especially if you are one who prefers natural and healthy options.

Some of the most popular choices for homemade medications are olive oil and oatmeal. In order to create an olive oil moisturizer, you need to mix a cup of olive oil with 10 powdered pieces of aspirin.

The two should be mixed and turned to paste before applying on the scalp.

Oatmeal dry scalp remedies, on the other hand, are done by simmering 6 cups of boiling water and 12 teaspoons of aspirin for one hour.

Afterwards, the mixture should be strained to minimize the water. The oat water should be added with rosemary oil before applied.

In using homemade dry scalp remedies, the process is always the same. The moisturizer mixture should be massaged on the scalp for about 2 to 3 minutes and then the hair should be wrapped with plastic or towel for at least 5 minutes.

The hair needs to be washed for about 1 minute to make sure it is rinsed thoroughly. In rinsing, cold water is most preferred because it easily and thoroughly removes suds.

After rinsing, shampoo like usual though you should be careful in choosing the product to use. In selecting shampoos, choose those with natural bases.
