Father's Day Gift
Gift for Dad on his day
A Toast to Dad
Gift Bag for Dad
On Father's Day invite Dad to "sip" into something more comfortable with a bottle of home brewed coffee flavored liqueur. The smooth beverage is a blend of vodka, coffee and chocolate. He will be doubly delighted when he realizes that the tie decorating his gift bag is the second half of his special day surprise.
Make this gift early to allow flavor to fully develop.
4-cups white granulated sugar
3/4-cup instant coffee granules
2-tablespoons chocolate syrup
1-vanilla bean, cut into fourths
1-bottle (750 ml) vodka
In a large saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil over medium high heat; boil for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Transfer to a 1-gallon container with a lid. Stir in coffee granules, chocolate syrup and vanilla beans pieces and stir in vodka. Cover and allow flavor to develop for 2 to 3 weeks at room temperature. Shake or stir once a day. Remove the vanilla bean pieces before giving. Store bottle in a cool, dark place.
Makes about 8-1/2 cups.
