Homeschooling: Information for Christian Homeschooling

By Edited Mar 1, 2016 0 0

When we look at the principles and primary reasons for Christian homeschooling we will find that it is influenced by the child's training based on the Bible. The education of the child should be left in the hands of the parents.

In all Christian home-schools parents teach the word of the Lord. This is to prepare their children for appropriate Christian wisdom, direction, and values essential in their everyday life. This will also influence them when they reach adulthood. You will note that this aspect of Christian teachings are absent from the current traditional educational system in public schools.

Christian home schools are distinct for each family. Some do accurately design their homes to look like schools. These would be complete with textbooks, desks, and even recess. Others make homeschooling a way of life. In this system, both parents and children learn through life experiences. Teaching and learning and studying are parts of the everyday routine instead of a closely controlled classroom environment.

However each family sets up their home school, their objectives are alike. They want to give their children a quality education with important information while at the same time teaching them how to become critical thinkers and independent individuals. In this way they can be aware and conscious of the choices they make.

Christian families do make the most of the almost limitless resources available to them. These would include the Bible, literature, home economics, nature, and every living thing as the basis of all education. They are also constantly integrating teachings from the Bible in each taught subject.

Christian home schools allow parents to impart the word of God to their child. This provides an environment that is spiritual and has moral reinforcement through which the children are trained to take the word of God seriously and to act and think as Christians. Typically the curriculum in a Christian home school spends a substantial meaningful time in the study of the Bible and focuses on God's scripture.

Many, if not all, Christians choose to home school their children simply and primarily because of their faith that God's plan is revealed through parents raising and educating their own children. Christians firmly believe there is no other educational system and they acknowledge that this is the way of the Bible.

Christians accept that God did not actually suggest that His people attend schools; that schools were actually a product of man. The Bible pages support by instruction with examples and principles. This closely resembles home education or homeschooling.
