Honolulu Flight Options

By | Sep 9, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Even though the current economic downturn has reduced the number of tourists taking expensive trips to Hawaii and other resort destinations, there are still plenty of available flight options to reach Honolulu or the other Hawaiian Islands. Recent research shows tourism to Hawaii is down about thirteen percent, but that still leaves eighty-seven out of every hundred plane seats full. In fact, some carriers have offered travel discounts and deals that have actually increased their Honolulu flight sales.

For most Americans wanting to travel to Hawaii you will most likely have to catch a departing flight from one of the major West Coast airports. There are numerous flights direct to Honolulu and Maui from San Diego, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, Portland and Seattle. Some carriers also have started a few random Hawaii-bound flights from smaller airports such as Spokane, Fresno and Riverside.

But before you assume you will have to take a flight to the West Coast, make sure you check with your local airport. Recently Hawaiian Airlines and other carriers have added a few direct flights to the Islands from cities like Phoenix, Denver and Salt Lake.

Finally, getting the best deal on your flight to Honolulu is pretty much up to you, and how much effort you put into finding the lowest ticket price. First and foremost, you should book your travel to Hawaii at least three months in advance to your departure. And make sure you visit several online travel websites such as Honolulu Flights 101 to find the most affordable Honolulu flights. In many cases these websites will be able to quote you prices on flights only, as well as packages that will include hotel stays and rental cars. Your flight to Honolulu will be the most enjoyable when you can sit back, relax and know you didn't pay full price for your seat!
