Hey guys and welcome to this review of the Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge F5914-900. After reading this review I would like to hope that you have reached the point where you can confidently decide whether this is the carpet cleaner for you or whether you might be best looking elsewhere. I would like to mention at this point that because this just happens to be one of the best selling vacuum cleaners on Amazon.com. I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't a lot of people already pretty much convinced.

During this review I like to deliver an unbiased and balanced report, but at the same time also give out my own personal views and opinions of this machine. I will be covering the pros and the cons, the features and the issues and attempting to be relatively thorough even though I am on time constraints.

Some folks on the web have been complaining that this machine is constantly leaking right from the get go and causing them huge problems. I am pretty sure that anyone you is suffering in this fashion is most likely just ignoring the important set ups steps in the instruction manual. While I can understand anyone who doesn't particularly like reading through instruction manuals when they first get a new piece of kit, but in this particular instance I would strongly recommend it. You need to squeeze the trigger quite firmly and then push the Clean Surge button to lock a rod into place. After you have done this correctly you should hear a clear "click" which will let you know that you have done it properly, but the bottom line here is that if it still leaks, you haven't done it properly. If it works it works.

I would advise caution when using this machine on any kind of delicate fabric the suction is far too strong for weak material and you will most likely rip, tear or cause damage of some description. While it's true that this machine is called a "steam" vac there is actually no steam involved whatsoever, this is just a marketing ploy by Hoover. It is of course something that all vacuum manufacturers do, so we can hardly hold it against Hoover here.

I hope that you have gained some useful information for your quest to find that ideal vacuum cleaner for solving your problems. This machine is not as fancy as a dyson perhaps, but it does the job fantastically and I would strongly recommend you give it the chance it deserves.
