Hosta Baby Bunting is the #3 best miniature Hosta plant for 2010 according to the American Hosta Society. This plant is a sport of Hosta Rough Waters and is the parent plant of the #1 miniature which is Hosta Pandora's Box. This is a beautiful plant that is worthy of a spot in any shade garden.
Baby Bunting grows to 10 inches high and forms a clump that is 12 inches wide. This plant forms a very neat clump that is slightly loose.
The leaves of this Hosta are blue and heart shaped. The tiny leaves are slightly less than 2 inches long and wide. The leaves are not shiny and they are smooth and un-textured. This plant is slug resistant so if you need a slug resistant Hosta this is one that should be considered.
The pale lavender flowers of Hosta Baby Bunting are pale lavender in color and bell-shaped. The bloom time is from mid June to July. The seeds of Baby Bunting are viable but they will not come true to type. If looking for a clone of this Hosta it must be propagated by division. Seed planting should be done for breeding and experimental purposes only.
Hosta Baby Bunting is a great miniature Hosta for the shade garden. The form and foliage color of this plant is beautiful and worthy of a spot in any shade garden.
