Hosta Blue Angel Information

Hosta Blue Angel is the 5th most popular Hosta plant right now. This is a giant blue Hosta of unknown parentage. This plant is both sun resistant and slug resistant. If there is a spot large enough in the garden for this great big blue Hosta this plant might just be the one to go into the spot. Blue Angel Hosta is some sort of Hosta sieboldiana, but I'm not exactly sure of the lineage.

Plant and Leaf Size
A giant Hosta Blue Angel reaches a height of 36 inches and a width of 60 inches. This is a fast growing Hosta which can quickly get large enough to be a specimen in the garden. The leaves 18 inches long by 12 inches wide.

Leaf Color and Details
The heart-shaped leaves of Blue Angel Hosta are a strong blue and with their large size are easily seen from across the garden. The leaves are fairly flat but have good veining and some ripples along the edges.

Flower Color and Details
The bell-shaped flowers of Hosta Blue Angel are white and they start blooming in early July. The seeds of this plant are sterile but with a fast growing plant like Blue Angel division is better anyway.

This is a fantastic plant that needs a lot of room to grow. This is probably the most attractive of the giant blue Hostas. The large powder blue leaves are unmistakable and will draw people to the plant as they visit the garden.
