Hosta Cookie Crumbs
General Info
Hosta Cookie Crumbs is a variegated miniature Hosta. This variety is ranked #9 on the list of best Hostas for the year 2010 by the American Hosta Society. This plant is a sport of Hosta Tiny Tears. This is a shade Hosta and should not be planted where it will get much sun. It is also not slug resistant which can be a problem in some gardens.
Plant and Leaf Size
Cookie Crumbs grows to a height of 5 inches and has a spread of 9 inches wide. The leaves are 2.25 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. The leaves are oval shaped and the plant forms a flattish mound. The leaf edges are slightly wavy. This plant has a medium rate of growth.
Leaf and Flower Color
The coloration of the leaves is a medium green with white edges. The edge size is variable – sometimes the edges are very narrow and at other times quite wide. The lavender flowers of Hosta Cookie Crumbs are tubular in shape and bloom from early to mid July. They are held on 15 inch flower stalks.
Propagation Information
This plant produces viable seed which can be nice for experimental breeding but not for creating a duplicate of the parent plant. Hosta Cookie Crumbs must be divided if being propagated with the intent of increasing the number of Cookie Crumb Hostas in the garden.
Hosta Cookie Crumbs is a nice variegated miniature Hosta. It is an excellent choice for a small shady garden or for a sunny garden that has a bland shady corner. Its shiny green leaves and white margin help it to stand out in a shady bed. It works great in a mixed garden border or a garden that is dedicated to Hostas alone.

Wow, you have some excellent pages on Hostas! I never knew that there were so many of them. I haven't grown any myself but I should since I have a lot of shade in my garden.
