General Information
Hosta Old Glory is a large variegated sport of Hosta Glory. The variegation on this plant has a strong contrast and Old Glory is a fast growing Hosta plant. This plant is under patent until 12/3/2029. This is a sun resistant Hosta but it does not have any slug resistance.

Plant and Leaf Size
This is a large perennial plant that quickly reaches a height of 24 inches and forms a clump that is 30 inches in diameter. The leaves of Old Glory Hosta are 8 inches long and 7.5 inches wide.

Leaf Color and Details
The base color of Old Glory is yellow/gold and the margins are dark green. The leaves are heart-shaped, rippled, and have a lot of texture to them. This coloration of this plant make it stand out in the garden.

Flower Color and Details
The lavender flowers of Hosta Old Glory bloom during the summer. The seeds are not viable and in order to get more of this plant division is in order.

Companions for Hosta Old Glory
Old Glory looks great next to blue or grey leaved plants. There are many blue Hostas which can be used as a companion for Old Glory Hosta. Dark leaved Astilbe or Heurchera plants are another option for this perennial.

Heritage of Old Glory Hosta
This plant comes from a short line of great Hosta varieties. I mentioned earlier that it was a sport of Glory but Hosta Glory was a sport of Hosta August Moon and it can show some orange in the center leaf if conditions are just right, which it gets from August Moon. August Moon is of course a sport of Hosta sieboldiana.

This is a fantastic garden plant if you have the space to plant it. It has a great form and beautiful foliage.
