How Can A Hard Suitcase Help Me Travel Better?
I think when a lot of people travel they do not realize the importance of the luggage they carry. Sure, these devices help you transport your items from one place to another more easily, but it is so much more than that!
If you are a traveler that does not carry a lot of fragile items with them or if you plan to travel very short distances, you probably will not need a hard sided suitcase, you can get along fine with a soft sided suitcase instead. But, for people that plan to travel to far away places, visit multiple cities, or for people that plan to carry valuables with them besides clothing items, these are the people that could really benefit from a hard side suitcase.
There are one or two cons about these hard suitcases, but the major benefit is that it will keep all of your valuables safe and keep them from breaking! One of the disadvantages of these hard suitcases is that they are much heavier than the soft sided ones. This means that they are harder to carry around, but this can be fixed by finding a hard suitcase that has rollers!
Another disadvantage is that these might cost more to put on the plane than a soft sided suitcase, which is why it is important that you find out the regulations for the airline you are traveling on. All you need to do is get a luggage scale which can be found in ANY luggage store, and weigh your suitcase.
If it is above the weight limit, you need to find out how much of a fee you will be paying. For some people the fee is worth it as long as they can guarantee their items safety! Unfortunately, cargo personnel are not as careful with our luggage as we would like. It is not necessarily their fault. You figure they have time constraints and they HAVE to get hundreds of pieces of luggage on the plane before it takes off!
The hard sided suitcase will cost a little bit more than a cheaper soft version, but again if safety assurance is what is important to you, a few dollars more for peace of mind probably will not make that big of a difference for you! Above all, it is important that you do your homework before you choose any kind of luggage have it be hard or soft, big or small. Ask around, see what other people say!
