Following a good home exercise routine can have many advantages. The first that comes to mind is obviously the financial benefit. You can save a fortune on monthly membership fees, as these might even include services you don’t need, such as child care, or a swimming pool. Thinking in terms of gas prices, this is another big expense, as well as wear and tear on your vehicle. These can all be eliminated when you follow a good home exercise routine.
Keep in mind though. Even when working out at home, you might also end up with some expenses. Depending on what your fitness goals are, you might want to take up running; in which case it will be crucial for you to have good quality running shoes. If you plan on building muscle, you will have to consider maybe investing in a proper bench, or similar equipment.
When you start out by buying inferior equipment, you’ll probably end up hurting yourself, or get irritated since you won’t be making any decent progress. You might even end up spending more money when you eventually have to replace your inferior equipment anyway.
But on the positive side still, these expenses should be once off only if you plan properly.
Following a good home exercise routine will also give you the advantage of exercising in the comfort and privacy of your own home. No stress about what you look like in your workout outfit. You also don’t have to be concerned about time. You can exercise when it suits you best, without having to be concerned about busy times at the health club.

Alternatively, if you get motivated by being around people, or that special atmosphere you experience in a gym, a health club might be the better choice for you. Once again, depending on your goals, it might be more practical going to a health club if you need those extra facilities and/or services. You can also end up with a bigger variety of weights and equipment. Your goal might be to take part in a triathlon, in which case it will benefit you tremendously, having access to the swimming pool and various other equipment.
The choice is yours. You can follow quality workout routines whether you workout at home or at a health club, but you should consider own personality, your preference of surroundings as well as your ultimate goal.
