If you're new on InfoBarrel and have been reading articles by other writers, perhaps you've come across Amazon products being advertised in their articles and would like to do the same.
This article details exactly how to add Amazon Product links in your IB article so that you can earn a commission, should a reader click through your affiliate link to the Amazon website to purchase something.
Step 1: Get an Amazon Associates account
If you go to http://www.amazon.com, you will notice the Amazon Associates at the top right hand corner of the page. Click on that and it will take you to the correct place to sign up.
After you have signed up, log in to your Amazon Associates account.
Step 2: Search for an item to promote
Type into the search bar for a product related to your article. Example: jogging shoes. The search should bring up a list of products like this:
Step 3: Choose the product you wish to promote and get its link
See the yellow 'Get link' next to each product? After you have selected the product you'd like to promote, click on the arrow on the right of this image:
You should see this:
Copy the entire link within the box for inserting into your IB article.
Step 4: Using 'Elements' to Insert your Amazon Affiliate Link
In order to insert the earlier link into your article, you'll need to use InfoBarrel's new editor which has this on the right hand side:
Click on the 'Add' besides 'Amazon Product'. You should see this:
Click on 'Edit' and Paste your link from earlier into the 'Amazon Product URL' box, then and hit 'Save'. Voila! You should see something like this appear at the bottom of your article:
Step 5: Write 200 words in order for that Amazon Product link to be valid
Very important: InfoBarrel allows only 1 Amazon Product Element for every two hundred words. If you wish to insert 5 products, your article needs to have at least 1,00o words.
After you've successfully inserted your product link, use the 'Text' Element to insert text to follow below it.
In other words, you'll have to use the 'Element' writing and 'Amazon Product' Element each time you add text and a link, respectively. This can be tedious work if you're just starting out, so take it slow and easy.
Tips on promoting Amazon Products
- Only promote items you'd buy yourself, or that you'd promote for free.
- Make sure you at least read the reviews.
- If you already own the product, tell the reader because it adds credibility.
As I struggled with this module quite a bite myself at first, I hope this article helps InfoBarrel newbies out a little when it comes to inserting Amazon Product links correctly.
