It is not surprising to know that more and more people today have become conscious when it comes to the color of their teeth. This is the reason why teeth whitening kits have become very popular these past few years. There are many people who spend hundreds up to thousands of dollars to have their teeth whitened by dental professionals. However, there are also a lot of people who cannot afford this or are perhaps not willing to spend that much money to undergo teeth whitening treatments. It is a good thing then that they have the option of using home teeth whitening kits. It is a fraction of the price of dental teeth whitening treatments and it is very easy to use as well.

How do teeth whitening kits work? Teeth whitening products contain a bleaching agent which is responsible in lightening the color of the teeth. The two most commonly used bleaching ingredients are Hydrogen Peroxide and Carbamide Peroxide. When any of these ingredients is applied on the enamel layer for a certain amount of time, it will help get rid of stains that are often caused by coffee, tea and red wine. The amount of time it takes to whiten the teeth varies depending on how discolored the teeth is. If it is slightly off white or yellowish, people will notice results in only a few days. If teeth discoloration is worse, the teeth whitening process will take longer as the stains are deeper.

Home teeth whitening kits are similar to the process used in dental treatments. Most of these contain an ingredient called Peroxide gel and also includes a generic tray that you can attach to your teeth. There are a few reasons why people prefer to use it than having to undergo a dental treatment. Teeth whitening kits are more economical as it is much cheaper than treatments that are offered by dental professionals. Aside from that, it is also more convenient as you can do it at home. If you are hesitant about it as you think that it will be complicated, you should not worry as you will not have problems in following the instructions that are included in the kit. Because it is less concentrated than the products used by dentists, you will have to do it many times each week and this is the downside to it. However, the process only takes a few minutes so it will not take too much of your time. The procedure should be done over a period of one to three weeks for you to get the best possible results.
