How Much Does A Nurse Anesthetist Make?

By Edited Oct 4, 2015 0 1

We all know that the field of nursing is a good one. Not only is it a good field, but it also pays pretty darn good as well. There are a lot of professions out there that require several years of college. Several years of tough courses that take a great deal of time and effort. This can be an emotionally and physically draining time period for those who have to go through it. However, not all degrees are really worth the time and effort that you have to put into them. Some of them pay out really well and others are, to put it simply, duds. The field of nursing is, however, not a dud in any way, shape, or form. This is a great profession where a student who obtains a BSN degree, right out of four years of college, can make anywhere from forty to fifty thousand dollars starting off. Listen to that one for a second, forty to fifty thousand dollars right out of school. There are a bunch of professions out there that do not pay out anything close to that right away. Some professions take several years of climbing the company ladder to achieve a salary like that. Regardless, today we are going to discuss the salary of a nurse anesthetist and answer the question on how much they make in a years time.

To simply put it out there, a BSN must be obtained before getting a nurse anesthetist degree or CRNA. If you know nothing about the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, then might I inform you of the nursing school costs. A CRNA for those of you who do not know, this stands for certified registered nurse anesthetist. The first degree can take approximately four years to achieve depending on the student and how much of a workload they can handle each semester. After those four years, a nursing student can then specialize. Some of them choose to specialize in anesthesia. So it can be inferred, that with this specialization comes a higher salary. If you were guessing this, then you are correct. Now there are some factors that have an effect on how much the salary of a nurse anesthetist actually is. The majority of them make over one hundred dollars though. Like I said, it really depends on a diverse based of factors. Location is one that can have a big effect on their salaries. I have seen several locations that paid a nurse anesthetist tens of thousands more dollars than another location. The employer and business will also have an effect on how much money they will make per year. The more business and customers that come through the door, the more money they could possibly make. Now this may not be one hundred percent true, because most certified nurse anesthetists are put on salaries, but these sums are subject to change depending on how well the practice is doing. The best way to acquire accurate detains for the earnings in you specific area, try contacting a local hospital or practice. Remember that location has a lot to do with it and can be the difference between $60,000 and $110,000.
