I think it’s about time we start talking about the next-gen games that will raise the standard and set the bar so high it becomes a topic of discussion all across the internet like the way killzone 2 pre-rendered video did way back in 2005. As a lover of everything 3D graphics and computer animation I was never so excited about anything that had to do with video games as much as I did when I saw that video on the web. Some of the things that I really liked in that video was the facial animation of the characters, their body movement, the way the enemy AIs reacted when they are shot and when there was an explosion and the Physics of debris scattering all over the place when there was an explosion. All that and a whole lot of other things happening on the screen at the same time blew me away.
All through the time I watched that video I kept wondering if all that was possible on the PS3. I watched and replayed the video over and over again to fully absorb everything. But when it turned out that it was all pre-rendered and not real game-play video, I was very disappointed to say the least. I am sure everyone who saw that video felt the same way too. That was the past and now we are almost close to another console launch from Sony and the rumor keeps coming as the launch day draws nearer.
The PS4 will soon be launched and even though all we hear now are rumors am pretty sure that some of them will turn to be true. One of such rumor that I am very excited about is the one that says the PS4 will be able to output 4k HD games. Just thinking about this and what was being teased by Guerrilla Games a few days ago, I got thinking, could they be planning on showing us Killzone 4 or a new IP running on the PS4 in 4K glory? That could blow everything else out of the water. I just can’t wait for that day when they show us the real stuff they are teasing about. I am just so excited about it and I just can’t wait any longer.
Next year is going to be an exciting year for gamers. Going by the rumors (what we are hearing), and the recent tease from Guerrilla Games and some of the other major studios owned by Sony I am really anxious for what will be revealed next year and what GG will show us come E3 2013. Are you excited as I am? Please drop your comment below.
