By Edited Sep 3, 2016 1 1

Most of us already know all of the common sense things that you can do to avoid the flu. Such as staying away from sick people and washing your hands often. But there are also some natural methods that you can use to avoid or at the very least recover quickly from the flu. These natural remedies are safe to use for the regular flu as well as for the swine (H1N1) flu.

Things You Will Need

Garlic
Vitamin C and E
Green tea
resveratrol

Step 1

Garlic is a strong and very effective antiviral. To be effective garlic must be taken while fresh and raw within one hour of being prepared. Otherwise the health benefits will be greatly diminished. Dosage is 2-3 freshly crushed cloves a day

Step 2

Taken together vitamin e and c work well to help boost your immune system. Vitamin c is also an antiviral. This combination when taken together works well for people with low or compromised immune systems.

Step 3

Green tea is also a very effective antiviral and thought to be comparable to Tamiflu. It's recommended that you drink 2-3 cups per day.

Step 4

Resveratrol is also a good antiviral that can be found in red wine, grapes, raisins, peanuts and Japanese knotweed. Dosage is 125 mg. of trans-resveratrol taken twice a day.
Eating healthy and getting an adequate amount of vitamin d3 is also important to good health.
