How To Be Filled With The Holy Spirit
Preachers tell us a variety of ways to be filled with the Holy Spirit; we hear things like, "Five ways to be filled with the Spirit" or " Ten points on how to receive the Spirit" but I recently discovered a way out of the never ending tunnel of trying to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
In the Scriptures, Jesus told his disciples that they will be baptised with the Holy Spirit if they remained in Jerusalem and his words came to pass in the book of Acts 2:1-end. Baptism implies being immersed; this implies that baptism in the Holy Spirit is an immersion into the Holy Spirit. After the initial baptism, Christians need to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit.
It is at this point of continuous filling that many Christians lose it. They find out that they struggle so much with their faith and can't find a way to connect with God in the Spirit. This then begs the question, "How can we be continually filled with the Holy Spirit?"
The answer to this question can be found in the book of beginnings, Genesis 1:2, when the bible records that the world was chaotic and void but that the Spirit of God incubated the earth. The surest way to be continually filled with the Spirit is to look for problems around and decide that the problems will be solved through you; this decision invites the Holy Spirit into the situation and I bet you, a solution would be found faster than you think.
God is interested in solving problems, when He is invited into a problematic situation, heavenly resources are released to solve the problem. God is not a mystic being that is not involved in the day-to-day activities of His children, He is a problem solving God.
