Fitness models are known to promote a healthy body, and lifestyle image. They spend a huge amount of time exercising and eating healthy to stay in shape. Even though you do need to be committed to fitness, you will not have to be a professional athlete to succeed in this career. Read on to find out how to get started.

Make sure that you always keep your body in a great physical condition since your body will be your source of income. It sounds simple but it's harder than you may think. Join a gym in your area and do a combination of strength and cardiovascular exercise every day for at least an hour, if you can, get a personal trainer to help you.

Eat healthy and drink a lot of water, at least 2 liters daily. Stick to a healthy diet with lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and proteins. Any unhealthy fats should be avoided, also don't smoke or drink alcohol under any circumstances, and of course, never do any kinds of drugs.

Focus on keeping your skin clear. If you have an unclear skin wash your face every morning and always before you got to bed, use a good facial exfoliator once every week and remember to wash off your make-up before you go to bed.

Be organized, if you want to keep your body in the great condition it will require sacrifice, will-power and dedication. Going to the gym and sticking to a good diet will not be enough to stay in shape, you also need to develop the habit of going to bed early. You may want to make a diet and exercise journal to help you keep track of everything.

Learn to Pose and start making a portfolio Knowing how to pose right is as important as your physical appearance. Never underestimate posing in front of cameras because it takes a lot practice. Take pictures and let other make pictures of you as often as possible to get comfortable with being in front of cameras. It may be the best to take a modeling class.

Become a Model

Read fitness magazines and pay attention to the pose of other fitness models and try to imitate them. Work on your portfolio, a portfolio is a collection of your best photos. Consider hiring a professional to take photos of you and invest some money in a good quality camera because your portfolio will have to be updated every few weeks with up to date pictures of yourself, some agents may ask you for a photo that is not older than one or two weeks.

You should include about 6-12 pictures of you when you will be looking to get signed with an agent.

Look Active for Job Opportunities

Don't wait for your agent to get you jobs, you have to be active by constantly checking local listings for auditions. You can find them on the Internet, in newspaper, and magazines and make sure to take every job opportunity but never do anything for free, being a fitness model is hard work and never undervalue yourself.
