How To Break Through A Workout Plateau In 5 Easy Steps

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

If you have reached a halt in your weight loss despite continuing exercise or have noticed that your muscles have stopped growing despite continued training, you have reached your workout plateau. Luckily there are ways to combat this process. Here are 5 easy steps you can follow to break through your plateau and start seeing results again!

Things You Will Need

Workout plan

Step 1

Change your workout routine often. Every four to six weeks it is a good idea to modify what you are doing in the gym. Once your body gets used to your present workout, it is not being challenged anymore and will therefore have no reason to improve.

Step 2

Switch the order of what you do in the gym. For example, if you usually do weights and then aerobics, switch it around. Better yet, try new moves or machines in place of old ones in your weight routine. The additional variety is just what you may need to get some spark back in your workout.

Step 3

Try a new form of cardiovascular exercise. This will challenge your muscles in a new way, forcing your body to work harder. I have always found that mixing up your cardio work on different machines is a great idea i.e. one day do the bike, next time do the treadmill, try the rowing machine on your next visit, or take your workout outdoors and go for a swim or jog in the park!
