Dancing At Your Wedding
A wedding is a memorable day in the bride and groom's life, and it's important to remember as much as possible. For the bride and the groom, the day goes by so quickly! When planning a wedding, it's important to choose the right music for your wedding. Because there are many parts to a wedding, having music to support that part makes it all more memorable.

Things You Will Need

A computer with internet access to access websites
A list of all the parts of the wedding ceremony and reception you will be choosing music for
A document where you can document all the songs with artist name and the part of the wedding the song will be played

Step 1

Write down all the parts of the wedding you will be choosing music for.

A ceremony usually has the following parts:
Music for the bridal party to walk down the aisle
Music for the bride's entrance to walk down the aisle
Music for the end of the ceremony when the bride and groom walk down the aisle

The reception has music for the following parts:
Music for the wedding party to enter the reception
Music for the bride and groom to enter the reception
The bride and groom's first dance
The bride and father of the bride dance
The groom and mother of the groom dance
Music when the bride and groom cuts their wedding cake
Music for when the bride throws her bouquet
Music for when the groom removes the garter from the bride
Music for when the groom throws the garter
Music for the garter catcher to put on the garter on the bouquet catcher
An anniversary song dedicated to a couple who has been married the most years at the wedding
The last dance song of the night.

Step 2

Once you have your list, you can start choosing music. The best way to choose music is for the bride and groom to think about the songs that have special meaning to them. These songs can be included at any of the parts of the ceremony or reception. There are also many wedding song compilations that can be found through iTunes. iTunes allows a 30 second preview of any song, which can help determine a song to be part of the wedding or not. YouTube.com also can help, since many songs are uploaded for playback.

As you choose songs, you can add them to the list next to the part of the wedding you want it to play on. Because you are editing on the computer, whether it is in a Word document or Spreadsheet, you can go back and change song choices. Make sure you always save your document!
Deciding on music for your wedding is actually a really fun task in wedding planning. It also helps envision how your wedding will turn out to be. Your guests will appreciate good music, and will be a memorable day for years to come.

Tips & Warnings

When choosing music, think about the guests that will be there. Try not to choose music with swearing or inappropriate lyrics if children will be present.
