Farberware is a name brand cookware that comes in a variety of sizes and styles. It is a very popular choice for the at home cook. One line of Farberware is made from aluminum. It is a very popular line of cookware because it is known for its durability and even heating abilities. Farberware can tend to be quite expensive. If you have Farberware pots and pans or plan on buying them, it is a good idea to clean them properly so they last for a very long time.

Routine Washing of Farberware

First and foremost do not clean aluminum Farberware pots, pans, cookware or bake ware in the dishwasher. Dishwasher detergents can permanently etch the surface of the Farberware. its and pan handles can loosen. Hand washing is recommended and should be strictly followed.

Wash its and pans with a mild dish soap and a sponge. Do not use abrasive powders or steel wool on Farberware.

Rinse well after washing and dry immediately.

Never store cookware or bake ware if it is still wet.

Do not use bleach based cleansers on Farberware aluminum cookware as the bleach can damage the surface.

Do not use ammonia on aluminum pots and pans because it can be very damaging to the cookware.

Removing Stains From Farberware

Remove burnt on food by sprinkling a generous amount of baking soda over the burnt on food.

Pour white vinegar over the baking soda. Let the baking soda and white vinegar fizz.

Use a nylon scrubber to scrub away burnt on food.

Touch Stain Removal

If the stain remains, fill it with enough water to cover the burnt on food.

Place it on the stove and bring the water to a boil.

Carefully drain the water and use a plastic spatula or wood spoon to scrape off the burned on food. Don't scrape burned on food off teh Farberware with metal utensils because you may scratch the surface.

If your aluminum Farberware cooking surface has turned black or dark gray in color, cook tomatoes or tomato sauce in it. The acid in the tomatoes restores the color and shine to the cookware.

If you want to soak burned on food off the Farberware, fill it with water and toss a dryer sheet into the water.

Let it soak overnight.

In the morning, the burnt on mess easily slides off.

Adding a Shine to Farberware

If your Farberware is looking dull and the shine has disappeared, it is easy to restore the shine.

Fill the cookware with plain water as high as possible.

Add 3 tablespoons of cream of tartar to the water. Cream of tartar is found in the spice aisle at the grocery store.

Place it or pan on the stove and turn the gas on.

Allow the water to come to a boil and let it boil for 10 minutes or so.

Shut the gas off, carefully drain the water and allow it or pan to cool to room temperature.

Rinse it with plain water and dry. Never add cool or cold water to a hot pot it can cause the cookware to warp or fracture.
