Find A Mate Who Loves Pets

People join dating sites for different reasons. Some simply want companionship, others are looking for a life-long partner. If you've been considering joining a dating site, you're no doubt aware that you can save yourself a lot of mismatches by providing completely honest information about yourself and your expectations. If you own a pet, this can be a turnoff for some people. But it's important to include this information to avoid connections with people who aren't right for you and your pet. Here's a way to increase your chances of finding a mate who loves animals and will understand that your pet is your baby.

Things You Will Need

* Pet
* Camera
* Computer with internet

Step 1

Know what you're looking for in a mate and what information about yourself you will be willing to share on a dating site. One of the best ways to gather information about yourself is to ask friends how they see you. Make a list of their responses that seem true and appropriate.

Step 2

Get yourself and your pet ready for a photo. You both should be well groomed. You want to make a good impression so be sure you look your best. Also plan the photo session at a time when you're both rested and your pet is most open to taking directions, like "sit" and "smile".

Step 3

Find a pleasant backdrop for the photo. If you own an outdoor pet, you may want to take your photo at a park. Look for a location without too many distractions for your pet. You want him looking at the camera, not his potential playmates.

Step 4

Set your camera timer to allow you to join your pet in the photo or ask someone else take a photo of the two of you together. Save it as a jpeg on your computer.

Step 5

Go to one of the websites listed below or search for sites like them, that are designed for pet lovers. Register as a member by going through the sign up process, filling in your gender, and other information. Upload the happy photo of you and your pet.

There are several relationship sites that cater to pet lovers. Search the web for more. There's no guarantee that your membership on one of these sites will result in a life-long partner, but you will definitely attract people who have pets or who are open to dating a person who owns one.

Divaonline, maybe one of the best decisions I ever made was to break up with a man who wanted me to get rid of my dog. He subtly tried to tell me he'd found a nice farm where she would be ever so happy, rather than in his condo. You are right. It's important to discover those attitudes before you get too involved with someone.

It is so important that both people feel the same way about their pets. I once sold a house to a newly married couple. He insisted that her cats would never go into the bedroom wing of the house, and had a door added to the entry into the wing, to block them. I always wondered how that marriage turned out!
