One of the main reason people can't stick to their weight loss programs, is that they get bored with the exercise routine. Even with all the countless magazines with different exercise routines, they still tend to get boring after the first few weeks. There is a new program called Zumba that keeps you interested while you lose weight, no matter how many weeks you use it.

Zumba is a fitness program centered on dancing. It was created by Alberto Perez in Colombia during the 1990s. Zumba combines Latin and World music with cardio style dancing in an effort to keep you entertained. Each class contains different music styles like Salsa, Merengue, Mambo, Bachata, Cumbia, Chachacha, Samba, and more. Its music soundtrack is geared to change tempos quickly which means the workout changes quickly. This in turn provides an all over toning of the body.

There are over 60,000 locations in the world that offer Zumba. There is a good chance that your local gym has a class but if you are not sure, there are ways for you to find out.

First: Go to the Zumba website

Second: Click the Find An Instructor Tab towards the top of your screen.

Third: Click the Search Location tab next to the Search Name tab

Fourth: Type in your zip code or city name to find a list of instructors in your area.

If going to a class is not something you feel comfortable in doing when first learning, there are several DVDs you can purchase so that you can practice Zumba in the comfort of your own home. On the main Zumba site, you can find different types of music from various Zumba classes, gym bags, clothes and accessories.

Once you've experienced Zumba, you may find that you like it so much that you want to become an instructor. There are several different types of Zumba classes you can sign up to become an instructor for. There is the basic Zumba class, Zumba Gold which is for the active elderly, and Zumba Toning, which combines the Zumba basic with body sculpting techniques. There is also an aquatics Zumba class and a Zumba for kid's class called Zumbatomics.

In order to become an instructor for a Zumba class, simply go to the Zumba website and click the tab where it says Instructor Training. After that simply follow the directions to find out where there is an instructor's workshop in your area.
