You don't have to look far to find happiness, its simple, its inside of you.
So you want to know how to find happiness? Don’t we all! In one way or another, everything we do is done to make us happy now or sometime in the future. I’d like to share some simple tips for finding happiness:
Stop being attached to outcomes. Being attached to an outcome leads to disappointment when that outcome doesn’t happen, and since there’s no way for us to predict outcomes with 100% accuracy, it only makes sense not to become attached to our predicted outcomes. We become attached to outcomes when we lose touch with the present and spend too much of our time projecting into the future, which leads me to my second simple tip…
Spend most of your time in the here and now. Happiness and all other emotions are experienced in the present based on what we are doing or thinking. The sad fact is that most of our thinking consists of worrying about the future or obsessing over the past, both of which lead us to feel anxious and not happy in the present. When you feel yourself thinking this way, bring yourself back to the present. The best way to bring yourself into the present is…
Do things that require focus, Do things that you get lost in. Get into the zone, find those activities that you love to do and spend more time on them. They are what matters. Play with your kids. Exercise. Make music. Listen to music. But to truly find happiness, you must…
Give to others. Give of your time and attention to loved ones. Give what you have in excess to those in need. Give the gift of talents and efforts to the world. If you have nothing to give, give a smile to an stranger, give a compliment to a acquaintance.
I hope these simple tips help you to find happiness that exceeds what you ever thought possible.
