The Nokia 6630 can be formatted in four different ways. Format the memory card to delete all the information you have stored on the card. If the phone freezes or malfunctions, soft or hard formatting can sometimes fix the problem. Soft formatting restores certain factory settings but preserves your user data like photos and applications. Hard formatting your phone deletes all your files and third-party applications. Back up any files you don't want to lose before following these instructions.

Tips & Warnings
- Take your phone to a technician; you could lose all your information or break your phone if you do not know what you are doing.
- Try the alternative reset (step 4) if you cannot switch on your phone.
- When hard resetting your phone, you will need to introduce a security code. If you don't know what the code is, you probably haven't changed the original factory password: 12345.
- Make sure your phone has at least a half-charge of battery before you format it.
