How To Get A Google Adsense Publisher ID

By | 120 Comments | Rating: 21 | |

What is Google Adsense and how do I get a Publisher ID?

In order for writers to earn money for the Google Adsense ads on their Infobarrel articles we require that you have a Google Adsense account. If you don't already have a Google Adsense account, you will need to sign up for one, as we need you to provide us with your Google Adsense Publisher ID.

First of all, you will need to sign up for a Google Adsense account. It may take several days to receive your approval depending on how back logged Google is. To sign up, point your browser to https://www.google.com/adsense/g-app-single-1 and fill out the form.

If you don't already have a website, you can just place the url of your Infobarrel profile as your website URL when signing up. For example, if my user name on InfoBarrel is 'test', my url would be 'http://www.Infobarrel.com/Users/test'. If you are going to use your Infobarrel profile as your Google Adsense ID, make sure you have at least one approved article, otherwise Google may deny your account due to your profile being 'under construction'.

Make sure you fill out all the Google Adsense information out correctly because they will be sending you your checks for your earnings. The wrong address, means no checks!

That is pretty much it, once you have been approved, login to Google Adsense by going to http://www.google.com/adsense . Once logged in, in the very top right corner you will see 'Publisher ID:'. All Publisher IDs start with the prefix 'pub-' followed by a combination of numbers. This is the publisher ID that we require in your profile in order to credit you with your ad impressions. Make sure you grab this ID, place it in Google Adsense Publisher ID field in your profile and save it.

For more detailed help on signing up for Google Adsense, please point your browser to https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/topic.py?topic=8422

Once you have been approved for your account, you will want to set up a Channel to track your views and clicks on InfoBarrel. For help setting up a channel take a look at this page: https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=13993

If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us!

You can submit any domain actually. It is up to the reviewer at Google if they wish to accept it though. Some are more strict than others.

I am new (obviously) ha ha. I just cannot get an approval from AdSense. I used the http://www.Infobarrel.com/Users/test idea with my IB user name in place of test. It came back saying it was denied for non ownership of site, and I needed to prove I could edit the html at that site. It said to get the HTML source code for the site, add a new page, and paste a snippit. Suggestions? I am lost in all of that.

i think you should try this it worked for me. create a blog and get a free domain name. Adsense does not accept subdomains.
create a blog and go to www.co.nr and get your free domain and point it to your blog url.

apply again and you will be considered into the adsense program.

Good to know! It looks as though I may get denied as well since I used my account page and applied prior having one article accepted. At least I know what to expect now.

so i already had an adsense account before i started on infobarrel. my question is in order to receive payment for ad clicks on my articles, all i have to do is add my google adsense publisher id to my info barrel account? I dont have to do anything in my google adsense account? the money will just show up as people click? thanks and sorry for all the questions.

Hi Papa0s0,

You are correct. Just ad your Adsense Publisher ID into your InfoBarrel account and you will begin displaying ads on your articles immediately and get paid as they click.

Is there anyway to track individual articles so I know which ones are generated the revenue - can I just add each article as a url channel?

My google adsense account shows much fewer views than the totals listed for my articles. Why is this?
May 14, 2009 12:54pm
admin
The views listed on the actual articles is a very raw number. It includes page refreshes, when people hit the back button amongst other things. The data within Google Adsense is unique impressions, so the Infobarrel numbers will be a bit inflated on our site.

If you want to verify that you are indeed getting your 75% of the Adsense views, just refresh the page a few times and in the source code take a look at who's pubsliher ID is loading, you will see yours 75% of the time.

Hope that answers your question!

I already had a google pub id and I've entered it into my profile. When I check my google account I don't see infobarrel listed with my other site/blog as being signed up with adsense. Do I need to do anything in my adsense account to make sure infobarrel clicks are recorded? Also, I'm having a problem with my infobarrel account not being verifed yet--could this be preventing me from seeing infobarrel on adsense?

Do we need to give Google a Separate URLS for each infobarrel we write? ....it's just that after writing say 50 infobarrels my channels would be overwhelmed with URLs. Have you got a system where we can track all our infobarrels from just one URL??

I am so confused after reading all these posts. I have written several articles and have no idea if any of them are being credited on my Google ad sense. Is there an article that better explains any of this?
Oct 9, 2009 3:02pm

Let me see if I have this straight. I just signed up for info barrel and now I need to submit and get a couple of my articles accepted before I go to Google Adsense and get a publisher's Id. On getting a pub. Id, I then enter that number, and only the numbers, into my Infobarrel account page. Once that is done, I will have to go back to Google Adsense whenever I want to check how much money I am making and they will pay me by check when I reach the payout level of $100. Is this correct so far?
Oct 9, 2009 5:27pm
admin
Hi Aupoet,

You are not actually required to have articles before submitting to get an Adsense account, but it is recommended as they have been known to reject users that have just submitted their user page with no articles written.

Once you get your publisher ID you need to put in the full ID which includes the "pub-" part as well as the 16 digits.

Other than those corrections you've got it.

Thanks for setting me straight. I hope it works out better here than over at ehow. I'm sick of being lied to and ignored.

I agree, ehow waited until I had money built up then they deleted my account they said I had content that was already on the web, I was writing this myself I knew it wasn't anywhere else.Maybe it was because I always ran it on grammar check, had long articles etc. they thought I wasn't smart enough to write that well..lol..I had over 50 articles and they just up and deleted my account with no money put in my pal pal either. Not sure how I'm going to do here but I'm trying for a bit.

Evening everyone...Please advise where I'm going wrong. I have my google account set up and pub ID placed in infobarrel. In order to set my adsense, I went to my Adsense Setup; there you had several choices; Adsense for Content: Adsense for Search: Adsense for Feed: and Adsense for Domain. I tried going for the domain, placing my entire path of www.infobarrel.com/users/netwelth; but it said "URL must not end with a path". Am I in the right place? Is this where I can insert "infobarrel.com and that's it?
Nov 2, 2009 2:23pm
admin
Hey Netwelth,

That is all you need to do to start earning off your articles here at Infobarrel. In order to track your earnings you'll want to add an Infobarrel channel to your adsense account.

For instructions on how to do this check out this: https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=13993

So does that mean, I do not need to go register infobarrel/users/fmwaweru or rather infobarrel.com in the 'hosted domain' section of Adsense domain set-up? All I have to do is add the infobarrel/users/fmwaweru channel to track my earnings?

Hey Ashkuls,

Have you received any emails from adsense at all? If you have and they denied you, try resubmitting your application. To my knowledge there is not limit to the amount of applications you can submit. If you haven't give another day or two and resubmit your application anyways.

Hello! I hope this is not too newbie a question, but how long does it usually take to see adsense and/or chitka profits? Do you earn just by getting clicks on your articles or does someone have to actually click an Ad on one of my articles?
I am not seeing any profits yet, but it's only been a few days, so I guess I just have to traffic my articles more. Thanks for all of your wonderful support, I am enjoying writing here so far!
Nov 26, 2009 1:59pm
admin
Hey ljbinkop,

The time line to start seeing income off of your articles can vary quite a bit as the vast majority of Adsense and Chitika ads are CPC based. This means that you are paid out on a per click basis. Keep writing and you will start seeing some money pretty quickly.

My article was published at the end of November. It shows no page impressions in Google Adsense, but there are views on the site.

Then I refreshed 5 times to check it- none of them showed my Adsense ID.
I added my publisher's ID immediately after it was published. I entered the entire string, including ca-.

So, either my account here at InfoBarrel is messed up and not including my share of Adsense impressions, or the ca- should not be included. I have removed ca-, and we will see what happens.

Hi naomimills,

Have you made sure to create a channel for the url www.infobarrel.com on your adsense account? If not you won't be able to see what sites are getting impressions under your account. Also, note that Adsense takes at least a few hours before they display stats as they do some number crunching to make sure people aren't click frauding. If you are still having issues please contact us with the contact us form and we'll try to give you a hand.
Dec 15, 2009 1:29pm
naomimills
Yeah, I had added a channel for one article which was showing decent views.
After I took off the ca- and added infobarrel.com I got a few Adsense impressions. The discrepancy between page views on the site and page impressions on Google Adsense is very large, though. I read earlier this is due to different reporting methods. Will this be made more accurate any time in the future?

I refreshed again today to check it. It was weird. The first one was Infobarrel Adsense ID, and then all of them were mine for about 10 impressions.
Dec 15, 2009 1:58pm

We are back and forth on if we want to change the numbers we show on articles. I'm sure in the future it will change, but to what, I can't say.

So, you've added the channel for "www.infobarrel.com" right? If you've only added channels for your articles you may not be seeing all the impressions you are getting.

Hi! I'm still new here in Info Barrel and I'm planning to sign up for a Google Adsense account in order to provide Info Barrel with a Google Adsense Publisher ID. However, I'm just worried about filling out information regarding my home address because probably before the year ends, my family will be moving to another city. And this will mean a change of address. Since it's been said that checks for my incoming earnings will be sent to my address, and as you say "the wrong address, means no checks", I am now quite hesitant to start applying for a Google Adsense account. And also I can't just wait until we will move to our new (home) address before I'll sign up for a Google Adsense account for this will mean a loss of earnings, am I right.

Well, I hope you will give me some light on this matter.

Hi Sapphire,

Once you have signed up for Google Adsense, you can change your address at any time. So if you sign up now, once you find out where you are going to move to you can change your address under your account.

Anyway, I've noticed there is also Chitika under the Google Pub ID in Manage My Account page. Do I also need to sign up for this as well as with Amazon to get a tracking ID?

Sorry to ask lots, but I'm still new here and I definitely need your help. Thanks in advance!

Yes to get IDs for those ad programs you need to sign up for them as well. They are easier programs to get accepted to than Adsense so you shouldn't have any issues.

Hi,

There could be a couple of reasons why these clicks haven't registered, one of the more possible reasons is that Google may have detected these clicks as possible fraudulent clicks meaning they think that you may have clicked on it yourself.

Click the link next to the blank for your Chitika and Amazon Id's. It will take you to the respective pages where you need to sign up. Once you sign up you will have the information necessary to fill in the blanks here.

This may be a stupid question but a question nontheless. I just signed up for infobarrel, and I would like to know if this is a legit, easy and safe way to make money? I'm just trying to make a little extra cash online.. I just need the basics on how to get started and everything else. Do I need a paypal? Or do I set my address and they mail me my checks? How does this all work? I'm grateful for anyone who can help me. Thanks. Diana.

I was directed here by a very reputable passive income specialist. So I feel extremely confident about the legitimacy of this site.
When you set up your affiliate accounts they will collect your payment information and that is how you will receive your money. Good luck!

Hi, I followed the advice in earlier comments and submitted by Google Adsense application the www.infobarrel.com URL.

Unfortunately this did not work. The reason they cited was domain ownership: Domain ownership:

To complete our review of your website, we need to confirm that you have access to the HTML source code of the URL you've submitted or were given access to AdSense via a third-party platform.

One of the things they recommend is:
1. Access the HTML source code of www.infobarrel.com.
2. Create a separate page on the site and paste the snippet:

This post confirms my ownership of the site and that this site adheres to Google AdSense program policies and Terms and Conditions: ca-pub-0144484830580474

3. Resubmit the application as described below after replacing www.infobarrel.com in the 'Website URL' with the URL of the page on which you have pasted the snippet.

Does that mean I just add this text onto my existing article page? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chitika and Amazon were much easier to set up, why does Google have to be so difficult?

Update:

I posted the text they requested onto my About Me page then reapplied with my user page http://www.infobarrel.com/Users/KGrant and it was accepted.

A question: I do have a blog that I can put but I don't want that blog monetized. If I put it, can I use my publisher ID for this site? Is it violating their policy if I don't monetize that blog?

I have tried to sign up to adsense and I always get the message in red "Cannot connect to the server. Please check your Internet connection and try again" My connection is always working so I am at a loss why this happens, I have tried contacting Adsense admin people. Does anyone else have this problem?

Hello Admin,

I managed to create my account for Adsense and was approved by google but the message I got said "patially." After I failed to create an Adsense ad unit on my account page as I was directed by the message. I was directed to a tab marked "My Ads" then I select "Content" and I click "New ad unit." But when I sign-in into my Adsense account, the only tabs I see on my account page are "Home" and "Reports." How can I go past the "create an Adsense ad unit" step before displaying ads and possibly getting a code to use in the HTML source of my infobarrel page.

Or could it that I don't need these steps since I don't have a website? Can somebody help me please?
