Digital reading is nowadays very popular. The Kindle and Nook ereaders for instance, are wildly popular devices, selling in the millions of units and, smart phones are being used as ereaders and a lot of Apple iPad (or other tablet-) users are using their tablet to read ebooks. But also other leading companies like for instance Sony and Google are very active in the world of ebooks and ereaders.
Paper books will not dissapear on a short term because of the ebooks and ereaders, but the worldwide demand for ebooks is growing well.

The public domain category on Feedbooks is a good destination for free ebooks, where you can discover thousands of public domain books. The books are divided in fiction and non-fiction and Feedbooks divided those categories in subcategories, so it is easier to find the title or genre you are looking for.
On the Project Gutenberg website you can download over 33,000 free ebooks to read on your PC, iPad, Kindle, Sony Reader, iPhone, Android or other portable device. Free-ebooks.net claims to be the internet's #1 online source for free ebook downloads, ebook resources and ebook authors. This website also offers free business-, computer-, engineering- and trade magazines.
On the epubBooks website you can find a huge amount of public domain books, available in the popular epub-format. The segmented their books by genre and authors, making it easier for readers to find the book they are looking for or to discover new books or writers.

The Internet Archive Text Archive contains a wide range of fiction, popular books, children's books, historical texts and academic books. World Public Library
