How To Get Rid Of Puffy Eyes

By Edited Mar 26, 2016 2 3

Puffy eyes can be caused by several different things such as illness, allergies, sinus problems, dehydration and over indulging in alcohol just to name a few. To me one of the worst things about puffy eyes is how old, tired and sickly they can make you look.

Most everyone has probably experienced puffy eyes from time to time, but some of us who also suffer from allergies and sinus problems tend to have them more often. But whatever the cause of your puffy eyes the following article on how to get rid of puffy eyes will have you looking better in no time at all.

Things You Will Need

eye cream,tea bags,eye mask

Step 1

First, cut back on sodium and be sure to drink plenty of fresh water every day.

Step 2

Next, be sure to sleep on your back with your head elevated. This reduces the appearance of eye puffiness by preventing fluids from pooling around the eye area.

Step 3

Next, keep your eye cream in the refrigerator and when you apply the eye cream the coldness will help to reduce eye puffiness. It also helps to gently tap under each eye with your index finger when you apply the eye cream. This natural puffy eye treatment works by helping to drain away excess fluid from around your eyes.

Step 4

Finally, to quickly get rid of under eye bags , try lying down for approx. 15 minutes with a cooled tea bag over each eye. The coldness and tannin in the tea bags helps to tighten skin and reduce puffiness. Afterwards just splash your face with some cool water and you'll be amazed at the difference in your puffy eyes.

Tips & Warnings

If you'd rather not try the tea bags, a gel or beaded eye mask that has been chilled also works well to help reduce eye puffiness.

I didn't equate puffy eyes with sinus problems, but that explains why I can't get 'em to go away. Nice tips about keeping things cool. I tried to tea bags once, but they were warm.
