How To Improve Your Body's Posture

Maintaining a proper posture alignment is critical in how healthy a person is. A person who slouches all the time is likely to develop unhealthy curving in their spine and may also suffer from frequent fatigue, pain in their shoulders, neck, and lower back, and constant stiffness. Read on to learn a few tips to help you maintain a straight spine and improve your posture.

The easiest thing you can do is use proper posture when you are sitting down. Be sure to sit straight up and to tuck your shoulders back in order to prevent slouching. Slouching will cause you spine to curve and lead to bad posture and worse conditions when you get much older in age. Other benefits of sitting up straight are added confidence, more alertness, and a position which limits pain and stiffness in muscles caused by slouching.

 Make it a point tostand up as straight as possible when you are standing. You will thank yourself a few decades from now when you are not terribly hunched over and have chronic back pain because you always slouched. You also have to stand up straight when you are walking and don't walk with your shoulders hunched forward. This will help prevent you from developing a curved spine and help combat shoulder stiffness and pain from hunching.

Lift weights on a consisten basis. Weight training will keep your posture upright and protect your spine by strengthening the muscles, ligaments, and tendons that help support your spine. This will make your muscles and skeletal system stronger and more resilient to developing bad posture and it will keep your body healthier as you age. You will also be less likely to get injured or break a bone as well if you focus on a quality weight training program.

Make it a point to stretch on a daily basis. Be sure to stretch your hips, lower back, hamstrings, and upper body as much as possible. This will help keep your body limber and stretched out and avoid muscles tightening and shortening due to hunching and other bad posture habits.
