Holiday meals just aren't complete without deviled eggs. Deviled eggs are the perfect "extra" to almost any meal. Pack a plate of deviled eggs with a picnic and it makes it a special outing. They are a tasty and inexpensive addition to finger foods at a party. Fortunately, deviled eggs are easy to make and require ingredients you most likely already have in your kitchen.

Eggs - Boil as many as needed. Count on at least one egg (two halves) per person. This recipe goes by taste, not amounts, so you can prepare as many or as few as desired.


Sweet pickle relish

Yellow mustard

White vinegar

Onions (optional)

Salt and Pepper

Step 1

Boil, cool and peel eggs. Slice lengthwise and place on a platter.

Step 2

egg yolks

Scoop out yolks and put in a small bowl.

Step 3

mix together

Add a tablespoon of mayonnaise and a spoonful of relish. Add dollop of mustard (about a quarter teaspoon) and sprinkle a few drops of vinegar into the mixture. Add finely chopped onions if desired.

Step 4


Using a fork, blend ingredients until smooth. Add more mayonnaise if needed. Let sit for a minute or two then taste. For a taste with more tang, add a few additional drops of vinegar. Salt and pepper to taste.

Put a teaspoon of yolk mixture into each egg half. If you have extra mixture, you can overfill the eggs.

Garnish with a sprinkle of paprika for a pretty touch. For a colorful and tasty finale, add cherry tomatoes, parsley, olives and/or pickle slices to the platter. Cover, refrigerate until ready to serve.
