How To Make Delicous Chocolate Chip Cookies

How to make delicious chocolate chip cookies is a tried and true recipe for this old standard. Everyone likes cookies and the chocolate chip is the king of the cookies. Knowing how to make a good home made chocolate chip cookie is something anyone who enjoys eating them should know. Buying store brand cookies will never be the same and a home made cookie will always win.

This is a great way to fill the list of treats for birthday parties and school functions. Cookies like this that are made for bake sales are always a hit and always sell first. Everyone likes a good chocolate chip cookie. Family gatherings and holidays are another good use for these tasty treats.

First things first, you should acquire a really reliable timer with a very loud bell. The last thing we want is a burnt batch of cookies. Although there is always someone in the house that will eat them anyway, perfectly baked cookies are better. Plus no need to set off the smoke alarms - they'll just give you a headache.

The oven should be preheated to 375 degrees Fahrenheit/190 degrees Celsius. This means that the oven needs to be at 375/190 degrees before we put the cookies in for the timing to be right. Just turning the knob to 375/190 doesn't mean you're ready.

This is a list of ingredients;

  • 2 - 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon of regular baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of table salt
  • 3/4 of a cup of sugar
  • 3/4 of a cup of brown sugar packed tight in the measuring cup.
  • 2 full cups of semi sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup of butter or 2 sticks softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Start with a large mixing bowl and combine the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Beat this mixture and then beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing as you go.

In a separate bowl combine flour salt and baking soda and mix well. Slowly fold this mixture into the first bowl and mix it all together folding and stirring until an even consistency is achieved. Stir in optional nuts and chocolate chips and fold again until all ingredients are combined.

Use an ungreased baking sheet and drop the batter with a teaspoon onto the pan. Space the cookies at least a few inches apart, as they will expand out wards during the baking process.

If the oven runs even and you preheated it to exactly 375/190 degrees before you put the pan in, then these cookies will take exactly 10 minutes per batch to bake. Watching the first batch until they are golden brown will confirm how long your oven needs. Set your alarm and save the cookies. Also save the batteries in your smoke alarms. That little baking timer you bought will save you a lot of money on ruined cookies.

Cookies should be removed from the oven when golden brown and placed on a wire cooling rack for at least two minutes to cool before being handled. I myself have a hard time waiting when they come out of the oven. The smell is absolutely intoxicating and I usually burn my fingers and mouth with the first one.

I know when I was young I can remember my grandmother cooking this treat and then as I grew my mother would let us help to make them. I now make my own cookies and I think of the past every time I do. This is one tradition that didn't turn out too bad and how to make delicious chocolate chip cookies is something I'm glad I learned at an early age.
