How To Make Homemade Rolls

By Edited Apr 3, 2016 1 0

There is nothing like homemade rolls for the holidays, which is probably why you are looking for the best recipe to use for your family's Holiday Feast. The following recipe is a easy, delicious roll recipe that you versatile enough to use throughout the Holiday Season.

Things You Will Need

1 c. warm water
1 tbsp. active dry yeast
1/3 c. canola oil
1 egg
1/3 c. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
3 c. flour

Step 1

Combine the warm water and the active dry yeast in a mixer using a hook attachment. The best way and easiest way, in my experience, to make bread is by using an electric stand mixer. Mix just enough to dissolve the yeast.

Step 2

Add the oil, egg, sugar, and salt to mixer and combine until the sugar and salt are dissolved.

Step 3

Slowly add the flour until all the flour is absorbed by the water.

Step 4

Slowly turn up the power on the mixer to high and let mix for 2 min. This is an important step because this will do all the kneading work for you! When it is done the bowl should be wiped clean by the mixing and come easily out of the bowl and hook. If it is still slimy it means you need more flour!

Step 5

Place in a bowl that has been prepped for the dough not to stick, such as, buttering the bowl or using nonstick spray and cover it with plastic wrap. (It's also a good idea to spray or butter the plastic wrap or the dough will stick to it when it rises.)

Let the dough rise to double its original size (about 2.5 hours) in a warm spot.

Step 6

Once the dough has risen you can make 1 in. balls and place in a buttered muffin tin. Then cover again and let rise until the size you want.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min.
This recipe can be used for cinnamon rolls, ham and cheese bake, or even pizza! Try it out on your favorite things!
