Work and stress in our daily life

Many people are such workaholics that they sometimes forget or deliberately forget the effects of stress to their physical and mental state. It's true that we need to work day in and day out in order to support the needs of our family and our basic needs, yet this doesn't mean that we shouldn't allow ourselves to enjoy the things that life has to offer. If we won't do this then stress will surely takes its toll on our health and well-being. This will eventually ruin our capability to earn for ourselves income to support out needs. Thus, we need to relieve ourselves from stress once in a while.

It's a good thing to work hard, however, this will backfire if we push our bodies to its limits which will eventually lead to sickness and having a frail health. Hence, it is imperative that we should de-stress sometimes. Here are some ways on how to relieve ourselves from stress:

1) Listen to the soothing sound of classical music

Classic music has been proven to effectively reduce stress. The soothing wail of a violin, for example, unconsciously tells us to close our eyes and immerse ourselves in the music that surrounds us. Take 5 to 10 minutes of your time doing this every day.

2) Relieve yourself from stress by brisk walking

Brisk walking calms our nerves because it gets our blood flowing and lets us breath better. Consequently, it helps us clear our head.  Doing this just only takes about five minutes of your time. Forget everything that you are doing, go outside and commune with nature. Relish the green surroundings when your do brisk walking.

3) Think happy thoughts

Being grumpy all day wouldn't do us any favor. Instead, you should try to think about the things that make you happy, the days when you were cheerful and ecstatic. Thinking happy thoughts lets our body release "happy hormones" that let us feel good inside.

4) Do breathing exercises

Breathing exercises are great ways to let us be in a relaxed state or mood. There are many types of breathing exercises that we can use daily. You can search for this online.

5) Take a quick nap

A quick nap is one of the best stress busters and it is a very good energy booster. The best time to take a nap is when you feel drowsy or feel numbness in your body. Take about 15 minutes of your time, close your eyes, and take that much needed sleep. You can be sure that after your quick nap you will feel invigorated. 

6) Light scented candles 

The light of a candle can be very soothing. The soothing sensation will be complemented with the scent that the candle gives out. When choosing for the right scent, you just have to choose what feels right for you. Start with your favorite scent.

7) Laugh

Laughter is a great stress reliever. Try to watch some short comedy flicks or shows when you get home. Laughter releases hormones like endorphins that help in reducing stress. 

We shouldn't have be a slave to stress when we work. Instead we should enjoy what we do everyday. However, stress will always be a part of our daily lives. Thus, in order to relieve ourselves from stress, we should apply the simple tips enumerated in this article.
