How To Replace Acrylics for Tanning Beds
Tanning beds are not a cheap investment, whether you are a tanning salon owner or you have a tanning bed that you use personally. This is why it is important that you observe proper maintenance so you can extend the useful life of your tanning bed. Of course maintenance also requires looking after those acrylics for tanning beds.
Make sure to clean the acrylic at lease monthly as dirt and grime can collect on the acrylic. This, in turn, could reduce the level of efficiency of your machine. What happens when you see that there is a crack in your acrylic? It is advisable to refrain from using it until you have replaced the acrylic. Cracks, no matter how small they may be, allow more ultraviolet rays than the regulated levels to seep in. This could cause some skin disorders and can harm your health.
When replacing acrylics for tanning beds, you can either ask a professional to do it, or do it yourself. Here's how:
1.Find the hinged portion of the bed. The hinge should extend across the entire length of the bed, both on the front and back sides. These are the ones that secure the acrylic on to the bed.
2.Next, start from the middle and pull up to the sides, reaching through the inside edge. Do this slowly until the latch on the acrylic is released. You should be able to lift the whole profile so that the whole length can be moved back. Be extra careful so you don't hurt yourself against the sharp acrylic.
3.Repeat the first two steps to remove the next profile.
4.Position yourself before the bed, and hold on the exposed portion of the acrylic. Start sliding it, bringing it closer to you until it is freed off the tanning bed.
5.Now, take the replacement acrylic and slide it into place, the way slid out the old acrylic.
6.Secure the replacement acrylic into place by snapping the hinges to lock.
Acrylics for tanning beds are widely available. If you need one, try to find models or manufacturers that offer longer warranty so you get more value for your money.
