How To Spice Up Your Kitchen the Natural Way

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

To most people, candles and deodorizers are the simplest way to create delicious odors in your home. But to those of us who don't care for the burning candle around small children, or are allergic to strong perfumed odors, there is an alternative.

Like the smell of "Mom's apple pie"? Put a saucepan of water on a back burner of your kitchen stove and sprinkle in some cinnamon and nutmeg.Let it simmer just a little and then turn the heat down as far as possible. Add a little water as needed and you should have a wonderful odor for several hours.

For a citrus smell use fresh fruit peelings from an orange, lemon, lime or grapefruit peelings work great.

If you don't have fresh fruit peelings, simply use any flavoring you may have that you use in baking. Coconut, lemon, maple or vanilla extract are good to use. Just add about one teaspoon to the saucepan of water.

If you like the smell of pumpkin pie use pumpkin pie spice or nutmeg and cloves. Containers of spices that are outdated would be very good to use for deodorizing your home, rather than having to just throw them away.

Make sure you prepare a good dessert .

Your kitchen can smell like apple pie or thanksgiving dinner, but be prepared to cook , the odors will definitely stir up some appetites and some serious hunger pangs.
