How To Tell If You Need A Hair Transplant

By | 1 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Because we are currently having an economic downturn, the prices associated with so called elective surgeries are coming down. An elective surgery is a type of surgery that you do not need to save your life or to cure you of a disease. Since a hair transplant is meant to make you look prettier, we call this an elective surgery. People don't necessarily need these to survive, so they will save money on this when the economy isn't doing so hot. In order to keep attracting clients, hair clinics are willing to lower prices quite a lot. They have to make money to stay in business or they will not survive the recession.

If you are trying to determine whether or not you require a hair transplant, you must first understand the mechanisms underlying your conditions. The problem all stems from a hormonal metabolite of testosterone, the male hormone. Testosterone can be turned into DHT or dihydrotestosterone in the body. It is this DHT that is the cause of follicles shrinking to a much smaller size, making them unable to produce any more hair. The DHT binds to the receptors in our follicles. The more receptors it binds to, the weaker the hair shaft becomes. The hair gets thinner and eventually dies off completely.

Am I Going To Need A Hair Transplant?

The only person who can determine whether you need a hair transplant or not, is you yourself! When you go bald, it doesn't mean you have to go into a hair clinic to get this treatment performed on you. Like I wrote earlier, this is an elective procedure. You should only get it if your personal hair loss situation makes you feel so bad that you can't imagine living a life without getting it done. Be sure to check out some celebrity hair transplant pictures before you decide to go through with the surgery. You can learn a lot just by looking at the results other people have gotten.

Thanks to the Internet, there are so many pictures for you to take a look at. But since hair clinics only put small sets of pictures online that show off their best work, you had better take a look at some celebrity hair transplants on a website that is not affiliated with any hair clinic. When you do your own research, you will be all the wiser for it. Not only should you inform yourself as much as possible upfront, you should make sure that you visit multiple clinics before deciding you actually want to have a hair transplant performed on you. You never know what you're going to learn in each clinic you visit!
