In most cases, a payday loan is a bad idea. They are very expensive, and when they are to be paid back on your next payday you are usually left as broke as you are on the day that you applied for the loan. Fortunately, there are a few things that you can do to help you stay safe through the payday loan process.

Online payday loans are becoming the preferred method for people to get cash fast. They are so easy to get that many people end up abusing them. The problem is the week after you pay back your loan, you are in need of another one, and relying on short term loans is a recipe for serious debt and financial ruin!

So what can you do to prevent this from happening? The obvious answer is to not get a payday loan, but if you must the main thing that you have to do is earn more money before the day you are supposed to pay the loan back. The problem now is figuring out how to earn more money. The remainder of this post will hopefully shed some light on how to do just that.

The easiest way starts at your job. If you are an hourly employee (as opposed to being on salary) see if there is some overtime that you can work. You may be able to take over some shifts from coworkers, or ask your boss if there is any extra work that you can do to work more hours. Sometimes, explaining your situation to them will help them be a little more sympathetic.

If overtime isn't an option, or you're a salaried employee, it's possible to temporarily adjust the amount of taxes that are paid from your paycheck. Changing it up so that there are no taxes taken from your check can put some serious coin in your pocket, especially if you make quite a bit of money. It's important that you adjust it back or else you will pay serious taxes at the end of the year. To do this, talk with your manager or payroll department.

Working odd jobs is also a great way to make a bunch of money quickly. Obviously, you need more time to do this, but it's very effective. Find odd jobs in your local classified section, or the "etc." job section on Craigslist.

Earning enough money to cover your loan will make paying it back a breeze. Not only will you not need another loan, you will also have enough money to cover all of your bills for your next paycheck. Being prepared and making some extra money is hands down the safest way to use payday loans!
