Writing in the third person can seem like a  challeng, especially if you haven't written that way before. You can accomplish it easily in just a few steps, and it will become second nature to you.

Things You Will Need

* pencil

* Paper

* story

Step 1

You will have to role play to accomplish this task if you are not familiar with it. You must write as if you were interviewing the person or character in your story or article.

It can be done as you are creating the story, or you can go back and change the wording after it's completed.

Step 2

Go back to your story and change all  " I's "  , "my's",and "me's"  to  a "he", "she,"his" ,"or  "her".

You will also use the words , they, them and other similar terms.

Some sentence structure will change , so you will have to do some serious editing. Make sure each sentence will make sense to the reader.

For example: I ran out the door as fast as I  could". Would change to:  She  ran out the door as fast she" could.

Example: I went to my room and slammed the door. becomes : Janice went to her room and slammed the door.

There are also times when you will use the characters  name or the person's name.

Writing in the third person  is used a lot when the story you are writing may be a true life happening but you don't want to say that it's about you.

Tips & Warnings

* Re writing any story takes a lot of editing.
