How and Why You Should Integrate Your Website with Facebook

By | Feb 12, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

I have just recently designed my Social Ad Exchange site and with this one I really decided to stretch myself. One of the exciting things I learnt is all the great ways that you can integrate your website with Facebook and so I thought I would like to share some of these with you as well as the great advantages for doing so.

Integrate Your Website with Facebook for Increased Website Traffic

Of course, one of the greatest advantages of integrating your website with Facebook is the amount of traffic that you can get from that website. Thousands of people have joined Facebook, so why not take advantage of that and get some of that traffic to your website? There are so many different ways to do so that you will surely find something that can suit your website.

Make Your Website more Social and Interesting

Integrating your website with Facebook can also make your website more social and interesting by sharing comments across the two sites, getting people to share information on your site with friends on Facebook, etc. This is what Facebook is aiming for and it certainly helps you as well!

A Simple Way to Integrate Your Website with Facebook

Now that we have looked at the 'Why', let's consider the 'How'. One of the easiest ways to integrate your website with Facebook is by including a 'share' button somewhere on your website - and if you have different articles on your website then include it with each article. Each time someone visits your website and decides to share your content with their friends on Facebook you increase the chances of their Facebook friends visiting your website as well.

Include Comments on Your Web Page and Share These on Facebook

Another way you can integrate your website with Facebook is by using a Facebook comments box on your website. In this way people can comment on your website (and view these comments on your website) but they will also be shared on Facebook, once again increasing the chance of people visiting your website.

Activity Feeds

What actions do visitors take on your website? For example, on my Social Ad Exchange website people can create profiles. Facebook allows you to share activities that people take on your website on that person's Facebook feed or on their friend's pages. This means that when people create a profile on my page, they can tell their friends on Facebook that they have done so.

Facebook is one of the most popular websites on the internet today and you can take advantage of this fact for your website with the multiple ways of integrating the two. Spend some time getting to know the Facebook Developers section (or ask your web designer to do this) and then implement it on your website and enjoy the results.
